UC Berkeley Asking Incoming Students For DNA

Updated: 10:06 am PDT May 18, 2010

BERKELEY, Calif. -- UC Berkeley is adding something a little different this year in its welcome package -- cotton swabs for a DNA sample.

In the past, incoming freshman and transfer students have received a rather typical welcome book from the College of Letters and Science's "On the Same Page" program, but this year the students will be asked for more.

The students will be asked to voluntarily submit a DNA sample. The cotton swabs will come with two bar code labels. One label will be put on the DNA sample and the other is kept for the students own records.

The confidential process is being overseen by Jasper Rine, a campus professor of Genetics and Development Biology, who says the test results will help students make decisions about their diet and lifestyle.

Once the DNA sample is sent in and tested, it will show the student’s ability to tolerate alcohol, absorb folic acid and metabolize lactose.

The results of the test will be put in a secure online database where students will be able to retrieve their results by using their bar code.

This is the same school that is upset over the AZ ID law.

Yeah, the one that has a course, "Commonsense and how to avoid it 101".

I say swab a monkey's butt and let'em play with that sample for awhile....you should get plenty of bananas.

Not surprising that they would be hypocrites. "Say one thing, do another" should be the left's motto.

Berkeley is a commie school. Piss upon them and what they do. Plus, as I've often said, liberalism is hypocrisy defined.

They will say "What if your child gets kidnapped?" and sadly many parents will think it is no worse than chipping pets, or view it as a necessary evil.

Yeah, the same ones that shout so loudly for freedom are now going to tell you what to eat, drink and how to live your life.

My hearing hasn't ever been the best so maybe I misunderstood the protesters years ago.... maybe they were shouting FREE DUMB, FREE DUMB....and you know DUmmies, they want all they can get of anything free.

BTW you dumbass lurkers: YOUR president and YOUR congress just passed a law requiring the government to maintain a database on YOUR lives.

Maybe you heard of it, it was called: the Healthcare Reform Law.

Imagine all that sensitive data in the hands of a GOP president and congress...it just one push of the Diebold button away.

What the DUmmies and their ilk don't understand is that since they do not contribute to society, they will get NO healthcare because it will be rationed. Stupidity in large numbers has shown to be more effective at destroying freedom than any violent Bolshevik-style revolution.

 THEY know who you are.
THEY know where you come from.

Wow just think, with mathematics and odds of the mix, THEY will be able to track your family back to the stone age.

Woopie te-do, markers show some students have a racial mark they or present family never knew about----the time line for the marker--say family survived epidemics of plague or small pox.  This could mean you have the antibodies to fight the diseases of today.

Could also mean that your family evolved from the mixing of the Neanderthal and the general population.

Nuts, this is a racial experiment sort of like National Geographic did with the DNA plan to help people track their family's back to where ever.

We have had these Loonies that are well educated but believe that some races  [ usually their own ] of people  are smarter because of their race.

Poppy cock, it is the society that gives humans the ability to learn.

Not all people can of any race  can understand high mathematics unless they are trained from a young age.

We do not understand how the brain works yet, some children are born to master Music or Art, some children we think are slow are actually geniuses to our thinking.

Some children who are very quick to pick up an idea become beach bums and cannot handle their gift.

Before I give to complete strangers body fluids that  give them imformation about myself and that of my family 800 years ago, I will need a damn good reason for it.

Speaking of census workers...we've had a lady coming in our store for a few weeks complaining that she couldn't find anyone to do the census. Seems they were afraid working would mess with their checks.  :lmao:
Finally had one show up at my gate-the man could not comprehend that I don't have a mailbox here,(we use our store address) so of course there's no "record of one received from this address."  He finally wrote down that no one lives here. :thatsright:  He didn't have a GPS gadget and probably would've GPS'ed himself repeatedly if he did.

For Berkley students they should also test for:

1).  Amount of time you body can go between showers.

2).  Ability to metabolize THC.

3).  Find work ethic gene.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.
