What a surprise!

Abortion foes capitalize on health care law
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_health_overhaul_abortion

Abortion opponents fought passage of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul to the bitter end, and now that it's the law, they're using it to limit coverage by private insurers.

An obscure part of the law allows states to restrict abortion coverage by private plans operating in new insurance markets. Capitalizing on that language, abortion foes have succeeded in passing bans that, in some cases, go beyond federal statutes.

"We don't consider elective abortion to be health care, so we don't think it's a bad thing for fewer private insurance companies to cover it," said Mary Harned, attorney for Americans United for Life, a national organization that wrote a model law for the states.

Just remember , DUmmies, it was Nancy Pelosi that said: "We have to pass the bill to know what's in it".

It's a small bonfire, but I love examples of the law of unintended consequences.

2. Where are the teabaggers opposing this? Shouldn't they be yelling, "get the govt of my health care"
That is akin to claiming gov't has no right to impose domestic violence laws because the family is sacrosanct. Nobody in the TP approves of violence against innocents.

4. And again people unrecc information? Geez. Folks need to know this!

With many of the states passing such egregious anti-choice legislation this is important to know.We cannot turn a blind eye to this. Unless of course choice isn't an important issue anymore. With many womenunable to getnecessary abortions in some states and birth control now under fire ,I would hope that is not the case.
Who the @#$% is attacking birth control? How do they make this shit up?

13. We have quite a few Pro-Life democrats despite our platform and

those Democrats vote against choice. Many women may choose to sit home rather than vote for them>I would NEVER vote for an anti choice Dem. And while it appears that most GOP are anti-choice, there are some who are pro-choice andthey are beginning to make louder noises about it. Barabara and Laura Bush for exemple and Libby Dole.We may very well see more of this.
There is a Democratic Legislative Candidate in my state who is a female and has voted with the GOP to usher in some of the most restrictive anti-choice legislation in the nation and my local party is 100% behind her because they think it "helps" in an Hispanic district. If she lived in my district, I would vote against her.I wouldn't vote GOP but I wouldn't vote for her, or encourage anyone else to.
wha--?

25. Exactly!! An All Too Come Happenstance Anymore! Which Of Course Is WHY

we're in the mess we're in! I've been butting my head against the wall for more years than most people I know personally. I've even been tagged the "go to" political person in my family which says volumes because even I know there's more depth than I can provide on many issues.

I've been disgusted by the APATHY I'm seeing for way too long now, and have said so over and over! I wanted REVOLUTION to begin long ago, but was told I'm foolish! All I know for sure right now is that too many people have gotten away with too much, most of it concerning LACK OF REGULATION!!!

Some of us have been in the trenches for so long that we are just about worn out. I know you have been attacked many times here, and I myself have too! It's like a dying breed or something, but what we see replacing it is something akin to "hero worship" right or wrong!

I once thought that when "the mess" got down to the level where it ACTUALLY impacted a person's life that THEN there would be a real call for accounting or resolution! But what did we get? TEA-BAGGERS!!

I'm sure you and I both could go on and on, but the bottom line seems to be that NOT paying attention DOES matter to some of us. But for all too many they simply follow some slogan, half baked idea or of late, mostly what Palin, Limpballs, Beck, Bachmann and the like spew forth like a GOD-AWFUL oil spill! And then we have our very own Democrats who sell us down the river!!!

Yeah, got a bit long winded, but I just can't help myself!!
blah-blah-blah

wah-wah-wah

5. How are these people even called pro-life?

They were perfectly fine with the millions suffering and dying for lack of health insurance.

But now that it's been forced on them, they will use it as excuse to deny women even when terminating would medically necessary?

How much life has been harmed because of these people's policies?
Read the article you lying ****. It clearly says they are restricting ELECTIVE abortion. Bust then, facts never mattered to you lying shitbags.

7.  Pro-Life actually means Pro-Profit in this case and they are only pro-life before birth.

Once people are born they are expected to provide well to do parents for themselves or be considered lazy and negligent. You have an obligation to choose good money genetics!
You're right, I changed my mind. Bobo and the rest of you worthless ****s should have been aborted.

14. When the hypocrites on the right, including the rightwing of

the Democratic Party actually become pro-life as they claim to be, which means anti-war and pro a Universal Healthcare System I will pay attention to what they have to say.

But it is always the 'merchants of death' who claim to be pro-life.

I will never forget the photos of the Iraq War showing a dead, pregnant Iraqi woman. Her grieving husband had made two coffins, one for her, one for the baby. The War Supporters cheered on this carnage while demanding an end to abortion.

Sick is too kind a word for a society so into death and destruction and violence, who places so much emphasis on this one issue.
Lying ****.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

The MSM complains about the flight of "moderate" republicans. No one--anywhere--has ever complained about the dearth of "moderate" democrats.

God alone suffices.

These people won't be happy until abortion is celebrated like a birthday and there is a Professional Abortion League televised sport.

Oh heck, they wouldn't be happy then.
