Could get interesting....especially if the graduation ceremony is held on the school grounds.

I don't think school grounds are as "public" as cemetaries are....though maybe they are except when school is in session.

Kinda sounds like 2 pushy, intolerant, loudmouthed, "holier-than-thou" groups will be meeting head-on.  In this case, while I think Westboro is a group of child-abusing scum, they have their First Amendment right...a right McMillen has already perverted in her court case.  Maybe they do deserve each other.

Perhaps in private.  I mean, yeah, she is a stupid kid, who did a very stupid thing, and I am not endorsing her behavior or what she did, but everyone else who graduates with her is going to not only have their prom ruined, but now their graduation.  What would you say/do if it was your kid graduating?  Perhaps the school should disallow her from graduating with her class?  I think it is honorable of the school to allow her, and it teaches a lesson, not in being PC, but taking the high road.

Anything the WBC does, I oppose.  I don't care if this chick is an attention whore.  If a WBC shithead decides to wipe his own ass, I oppose the action.  Those people are the second lowest forms of life on earth next to baby killers.  All Americans who holds any of our servicemembers in any kind of esteem should be with me on this.

At least this "protest" has the advantage of being actually aimed at it's "intended target" - homosexuals, and arguably militant homosexuals - this time.  I'm still trying to understand the Phelpsian logic of "God hates fags, so I'm going to go protest at the funerals of some of the most heterosexual individuals this country has ever produced".

I'm not saying that I wouldn't cheer wildly if the WBC protesters found themselves picketing in a minefield, but this does make more sense than 99% of anything they've done before.

I honestly don't think anyone condones his behavior.  I don't condone the behavior of McMillen, either.  Both are perfect libs, so self-centered, they don't see or care how much damage they cause.  In that way, and only that way, they deserve each other.  However, the rest of that class doesn't.  I think, if I were the school, I'd find a way to have a closed graduation...maybe in a local church.   :-)
