Has anybody seen any of The Weather Channel coverage on this tornado?

They were still talking about it last night. This was a tornado that rarely happens...it was so extreme.

I saw a bit of it last night, and the guy was showing the weather map with the colors....the kind that shows storm intensity....that showed the storm. Where the path of the tornado was....the color was PURPLE! He said that was not storm...it was actually DEBRIS from the storm that was in the air. And the debris was flying up to 6000FT in the air!! The tornado itself was up into the 30,000FT+ into the atmosphere!!

Many of these people that were hit, had no place to go in their homes. They didn't have basements or storm cellars at their homes. They can protect themselves from hurricanes to a certain extent by boarding up their homes and going to hurricane shelters or further away. Tornadoes give little warning to duck and hide from the storm....and having lived through several tornadoes growing up in Tornado Alley....there is little to no way to protect one's property from a tornado.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Having lived in Kansas for a great deal of my life, I know exactly how these people feel. That said, tornadoes can happen anywhere the conditions come together to spawn one. Hell, we even had a small one up here in Spokane a few years back! We've always been told the mountains prevent them from forming. Hogwash!

pretty much kicked the shirt out of a little town called Deer Park!

Tornadoes happen in all 50 states, some states more than others, some A LOT more.
