Remember when DUers used to be so solicitous of prisoners' well-being and rights and comforts and would rail against the "prison industrial complex" and scream about rehabilitation vs. punishment?

Well, That's soooooo '00's:

Scott Roeder, convicted killer of George Tiller, is not enjoying prison   Updated at 7:58 PM

The man convicted of killing Wichita abortion provider George Tiller is not finding prison's accommodations to his liking.

Scott Roeder has filed a petition complaining about his treatment as well as asking for his release, according to an Associated Press report. A hearing has been scheduled for June 4 in Wichita so Roeder can air his grievances. Roeder is also appealing his murder conviction.

Roeder was found guilty in January of first-degree murder for killing Tiller and sentenced to a "hard 50" sentence, meaning he won't be getting parole for 50 years.

27. My advice to Roeder: Get used to it, mother****er.

Who wants to bet that if this guy had murdered a cop or drowned his kids in the bathtub, DUAC would already have a letter-writing campaign in full swing?

They would cheer if he had to ride a bike to watch TV yet they are outraged about the prisoners in AZ that have to. Hyprocrites.

And the same crowd licks this guy's balls:

Pardon me if I'm not blown away by DU's selective moral outrage.

Just watching them babble their usual jibberish is enough sandpaper on my last good nerve that I'm in a perpetual state of wanting to use their heads for tee-ball practice.

  • Where are you going? I was gonna make espresso!
But by the same token, I also have a hard time garnering much sympathy for Roeder.  Whether you believe in what he did or not, he had to have known and accepted the consequences of his actions, and should have prepared himself for that eventuality.

Sucks for him that the world isn't universally regarding him as a hero.  Murder is still murder, whether in the 1st trimester or the 210th.  Both Roeder and Tiller will also have to face God's judgement at some point.
