PoconoPragmatist - Freak of Nature

Holy Crap!  Just when you thought Longgrain was screwed up...

Quote from: PoconoPragmatist
Well, I guess I ought to take a moment to introduce myself, as this is my first post here. I'm a 36 year old liberal Democrat living in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.

I'm here because of another board's unfair moderation tactics, which allowed for Conservatives to flamebait, by twisting the words or meanings of Democratic posters, and make it sound as if they had said things they never did, or outright stick words into their mouths...or ignore certain facts in passing judgements about people.

When the Democrat would react to this, they would get banned and the Conservative would go unpunished, because they were really good at following the letter of the rules while violating their spirit and intent.

I certainly hope moderation is more fair around here, that flamebaiters are punished, and that there actually IS an ignore button around so that I don't have to see posts from people who deliberately enrage me.

Anyway, what can I say for myself? I've lived all over the country, having recently moved back to Pennsylvania, to live with my mom, at the age, then, of 34, because I no longer had anything left to lose. It was all taken from me by selfish bastard Republicans and their anti-worker policies, and it was taken from me by holier-than-thou zealots who dare call themselves Christian, when their actions were anything but Christian.

I'm now 36. I am a post-operative transsexual living in a very rural area of Pennsylvania, where not much economic opportunity exists for normal people, let alone for transgendered people, like myself.

I'm coming off the end of a 2 and a half year long shitstorm, a bout with chronic acute depression, brought on by the unfair economic policies and discrimination practices exercised, in most cases, legally, in this country, which have served to keep me economically deprived, and oppressed these past years.

I survived those two years by the generosity of my mother, and the badly-needed, and little available public resources I was able to obtain, I got Medicaid to see to my medical needs, and some small cash assistance, so that I could get back and forth to my doctor appointments, and do what little work I could. I have now, after nearly two years of unemployment, managed to land a part-time job as an answering service operator....because a friend of a friend happened to own an answering service, and needed someone - that's the only reason I was able to defeat rampant discrimination in the workplace against my people. I have nearly completed education in Medical Transcription, with the plan of launching my own business, so that I never again need to deal with discrimination, bigotry, and hatred....and I need not worry about the lack of economic opportunity in my area....in fact, it's to my benefit, since few in my area are skilled in the areas I am...and in the areas needed to do the type of work I plan to do.

My goal is to finally become fully self-sufficient, to tell Corporate America to go bite the big bag, that they have lost me and my skills forevermore....they could have had them, but they thought it would be more fun to discriminate against me and watch me suffer and nearly die. Well screw them, they won't have me to kick around anymore. And I'd love to teach everyone else how to tell Corporate America to go to hell, too. They need US worse than we need them! And if they don't start treating workers right, they are going to find more and more of them will be doing what I am doing....divorcing myself from dependency upon them, thus diminishing the power they have over me and my life. They no longer will be able to commit economic blackmail against me.

So...you think I'm radical enough yet?

Anyway, I guess that's enough to digest to get you started on who and what I am, where I have been, and where I'm going. I certainly hope this board is much fairer in how it deals with flamebaiters. And I hope that the ability to Ignore flamebaiters is given to us, so that we can simply wipe them out, and not be goaded into finally reacting, when moderators do nothing to the skilled flamebaiters who know how to follow every letter of the rules, while violating every bit of the spirit and intent of those same rules.

With that, I hope I'm welcome here at Democratic Warrior. If nothing else, I know for sure I'm a Democrat (anyone with my history who supports Republicans needs a mental examination) and, after all I have been through, all I have fought for...and those precious victories I have accumulated in my years-long struggle against the unfair system that pauperizes most of us...I think I qualify as a Warrior.

Republicans suck!!

Oh my.

By the way, USA4ME, it's really good to see you've returned to the internet life.

Great find! I stumbled onto some of it's rantings on DW and thought it was make an excellent specimen for psychological study.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
