Rangel Short On Campaign Cash

Boo-effin'-hoo.  Couldn't happen to a nicer guy . . .

Rangel Short On Campaign Cash

The tax-evading, ethics-probed Congressman Charles Rangel is now having trouble raising money, according to recent federal filings.

Rangel -- who was forced to relinquish his post as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee in March -- spent nearly double the amount of money that he raised during the period of January through March.

The records find he raised a paltry $108,327 and spent close to $245,000, which includes $60,000 in legal fees defending himself against ethics charges that have already cost his treasury more than $1.5 million.

The story's only two more paragraphs long, and it's at:

Maybe he could rent out his house in the Dominican for a few weekends.  I mean, it's not like he'll pay taxes on the income or anything....

How would one know that income was considered income and should be claimed when figuring out your income tax. I mean it's not like he's expected to know such things. Besides, he's a democrat, so he gets a mully our two...

I wonder if Harlem has a rock-ribbed conservative to put forward?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Why are the R's not demanding he resign his seat???

WTH is this?  The guy is the most corrupt piece of shit.  Yet, he is still in Congress.

You know the Dems would be screaming 24/7 if Rangel were an R.

I've heard that a Baptist minister, who has one of those "(R)" thingys after his name, is running in Rangel's district.  However, Rangel's biggest opposition is supposedly from another (D)--Adam Clayton Powell IV, the son of the guy that Rangel defeated in a primary oh so many years ago.

Yeah, it's real funny how long a Congressional ethics investigation can take, for something as cut-and-dried as lying on your housing applications and cheating on your taxes is concerned, at least when your own party has the Speaker's chair and needs your vote for its policy agenda...

Hell, we have a tax cheat as the head of the IRS, and another tax cheat -Rangel- who sits on the Congressional committee that writes the tax laws for the country.  In any other time in our country's history, asshats like these would have punched in the back of the head just for stepping inside the Beltway.
