"Red Dawn" Remake
« on: April 15, 2010, 05:02:07 PM »
In this one, it's the ChiComs that invade.

Quote
The script of the upcoming remake of the infamous America-conquered-by-Commies movie Red Dawn (1984) raises an intriguing question – can Hollywood actually still produce a movie where it takes America’s side? The answer is “Sort of.”

There are some welcome ideological surprises lurking within the script’s 104 pages. Shockingly, Hollywood actually seems to accept the premise that if the Chinese and Russkies invade the United States we are justified in fighting back with hot lead instead of teach-ins and choruses of Kumbayah. But the script also displays a bit of the moral illiteracy we’ve come to expect from the Hollywoodoids – naturally, the script has to imply that we kinda brought the invasion on ourselves and that resisting tyranny somehow means becoming just as bad as the tyrants.

Some of the fimling was done in Detroit. I guess the director was going for a battle scarred look. He found the perfect place in Democrat controlled Detroit.

Here's a few pics from the Red Dawn Fan Site. Included there is a cast list, forum, etc.

And a teaser promo poster...

The scary part is with Obama in office and the huge debt we owe the Red Chinese this could really happen.

The actors on the CCP side shouldn't even have to hardly act when spouting off propaganda on the loudspeakers.

All they need to do is run MSNBC on the audio track.

You just know that among the "good guys" assuming the rebels are the good guys... will be a gay character and an environmentalist wacko character who will blame the US for bringing the invasion on itself....

Yeah, I've been wondering what the hell will happen when we default on all that money we owe the Chinee. Is it Obama's plan to bankrupt them? What does he say if they decide to repo our asses instead?  Oops?

It worked for Reagan with the Russians but Barry ain't Ronnie.
Barry will bend right over for the Chinese just like he does for everyone else, but this time it would be with love in his eyes.

Also Reagan didn't bankrupt our nation in the process.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

As if an R-D remake wasn't bad enough, they're working on 'Predator'.  It's not the same without Arnold Schwarzenegger, Action Jackson Carl Weathers, and Jesse Ventura.

It was the 80's.  Everything was campy, but we didn't know any better.  'Predator' was awesome. :hammer:

Don't get me wrong. I love the original. It was classic Ahnold. Guns, blood, action, a pretty woman thrown in and essentially mindless testosterone run rampant. Can't beat that!

And I like the twist on the original. This time it seems that humans are abducted and sent to a place where they will be hunted. Genius.

I missed that.  I saw the trailer on the last DVD I rented but didn't pay attention to it.
