US court rules against FCC on `net neutrality'

Federal appeals court rules for Comcast and against FCC on `net neutrality' case

Here's the money line, the third  paragraph down . . .

It marks a serious setback for the FCC, which needs authority to regulate the Internet

Will this get appealed to the SCOTUS?  Don't know, butt he Feds have no choice, IMO--they have to.  They're locked in.

It probably WILL get appealed, given this administration, but even SCOTUS is gonna put the smackdown on this one.  They're pretty open on First Amendment rights.

It means nothing.  Wtf... havent people learned yet that it doesnt matter they will do what they want or was not the HC bill enough to prove it?

They will regulate it like a utility.  Their problem solved.

Why?

as it stands right now, it's a lower court ruling that can be overturned at any point.  As a ruling by SCOTUS, entrenching the internet in with free speech and press as a 1st Amendment right, it'd be nigh unto impossible to work around with regulation or executive order.

If we could only get the FCC to regulate the cable companies and their TV channels. Too many of them are broken up into smaller companies so they can avoid FCC Testing. Blaring ad insertions, channel to channel audio deviation, high signal to noise levels all affect the analog channels, but the cable companies don't seem to care. All they care about is their bottom line, screw customer service.
