Really?  A fat person can draw disability?  Wow, they must be so fat as to be bedridden, I guess.

Nope. The standard is "unable to work reasonably" or something.

The Las Vegas Lardass, the Great White Whale Of The Desert, draws full SSDI benefits for exceptional fatness. He's apparently not bedridden, bragging recently about using part of a government check to buy a stationary bike.

Freeloading piece of shit isn't too 'disabled' to become a thousand-poster on DU.

 :banghead:

I spent three years trying to convince the government that I wasn't disabled, and still don't feel that I really won. But this whole seeking victimhood thing makes no sense at all to me.

I spent three years trying to convince the government that I wasn't disabled, and still don't feel that I really won. But this whole seeking victimhood thing makes no sense at all to me.

I have a friend who's husband works for my husband.  Her husband is successful and they are very comfortable (money wise) yet both of them are perpetual "victims".  Everything is done TO them.  The left seriously must use a different part of the brain than the right.  Her husband is very insecure, always thinking he is going to get fired (this was since he was hired 15 years ago, seriously he has worked at the same company for 15 years and during the whole 15 years he has continually been afraid he is going to get fired).  My husband constantly has to give him pep talks telling him what a good job he is doing.  He does do a good job yet he is so insecure that is shows to the point that my husband has to tell him that he is doing a great job.  His wife also tells me about his insecurities with his job and other issues.  His dad committed suicide when he was young and I think that plays a part in it.  His wife (my friend) is also insecure.  Her Mom died when she was 18 (from a rare auto immune disease) and her dad remarried with in WEEKS of her death.  I don't know if that plays a part in it but she speaks of it frequently.  Both are really nice people but like I said, perpetual victims.

She told me a few weeks ago that she is going to be a "republican" now.  Out of the blue she txt me and told me that.  I think it was after she had their taxes done and she was horrified at what they paid over the year.  She even asked me not to say anything to our mutual friends (people our husband's work with).  Then after the healthcare bill passed she posted on her FB, "why is everyone being so mean about Obama".  So she must have fallen back into her "victim" status.  I don't hold out hope that she will ever change but I have accepted her for who she is and I will remain her friend.

This is for the "cross-eyed primitive"

More from the disabled cross-eyed Iowa primitive:

I could use some input on this topic: a career change....

Tue Aug 18th 2009, 12:05 AM

Since I left college (never graduated) in 1998, I have been holding down various IT jobs, never lasting more than a year up until I started working for my dad. We have two businesses in place, both make some money, but not very much, and for that reason I'm on Social Security Disability to supplement my income. Some days I hate my job, some days I love my job. For many, many years I thought I would be destined to go into computers when it started coming out, with the technology.

Today, even with the downturn of the economy, our workload has gone up and down, and I feel that I'm really stressing my father to keep me employed despite his illness - he had cancer (now in remission), and his recent hospitalization for viral meningitis, and I had to handle all of my Dad's work for the last three weeks, and it really opened my eyes, because I can tell you the truth - I HATE THIS JOB. It's not easy being deaf, working in an IT environment.

I revealed all of this to my parents and my wife, and they are supporting me through the decision of possibly changing careers. I wanted to do something that I love - technology and animals. I've always wanted to be a veterinarian. I'm 33 years old, and everyone has given me their support - even my Dad who said to me last weekend that if I really want to change careers, then by all means, go for it.

I haven't done the preliminary research, but I certainly will NOT be a Dr. Frist vet (I promise!), but I'm trying to find something that will fit me and my disability and see how far I can go with this. I may enter the field as a vet tech (after retraining through Bel-Rea probably), then may eventually go back to school and go find my way into the field that I want to get into.

I know there are many vets (kestrel for one) here in DU, and I wanted to know what the requirements are. I just hope that accounting and calculus (and statistics) are not required, because they were my worst subjects in college, and that was the main reason I left college - mainly of boredom. I can do simple and advanced math, understand chemistry (a little bit - may have to re-take chemistry) and other stuff.

I just need help here - a guidance - if you will. I have my family's backing, and I'll probably beg Vocational Rehab to support me through this new change of career (one VR counselor happens to be a very good friend of the family). I just hope that this will work out for me. I just hope I can have the patience to relearn everything and forget what I knew of computing (somewhat, of course).

Sounds like he needs to get off Gravy Train an on to Fit 'n Trim.

Now that said, I just did a search for boneless chicken breasts.....guess what....

*Case Sale
Chicken Breasts
Boneless Skinless
60 lb avg
Price Per Pound
Item # 13823
$2.15

The gleaner should buy in bulk. :rotf:

Well, to be fair, not everyone has a Costco nearby. The closest one to me is 40 miles away. The cost of gas to get there and back would pretty much negate any savings in the price of the chicken.

Pretty disgusting, eh?  He works, yet gets disability payments when he certainly should not.  This is really starting to piss me off.

I dunno why the Hawkeye-X primitive, who suffers from degenerative hearing loss (loss over time), which is not the same thing as being deaf, has a problem in the information technology (IT) field.

The only thing I can think of, is if the job requires extensive customer contact and communication, well then, that's a legitimate problem.

But generally on detail work requiring intense concentration, as long as they're not interrupted by chitchat, the deaf do pretty good.  I know I do; the key is being allowed to work without having to indulge in comments, rumors, conversations, chitchat.

Perhaps the old man should field the customer comments and the cross-eyed Iowa primitive do the work.  That works for me.

Frank, the sheer noise in a shipyard environment precludes any type of chitchat or pretty much anything else that entails talking or hearing voices.  My hearing loss is significant enough that the noise doesn't bother me as much as it does others.

So, if lardo boy is having a problem with IT work that involves any type of listening, he may want to consider a career change.

I suppose though there's a possibility that if the alleged "criminal past" of the cross-eyed Iowa primitive is true, such a record might preclude the round beach ball from certain sorts of employment.

I dunno; while working in a shipyard would trim the cross-eyed Iowa primitive some, maybe such a job also requires a background check.

Then too if he passed all that background stuff the question which arises in my mind "Is he hatchable"?  (of course on surface craft this might not be such a problem) :fuelfire:

THE CROSS-EYED IOWA PRIMITIVE FROM DENVER
Original message

Social Security recipients - a question for y'all.

Since the establishing of Social Security, this is the first year that we have had no COLA increase, and we are not expected to get another for next year - I think it's time to write to our congresscritters and ask them they readjust the COLA formula (and I'm sure it's connected to the inflation index) and recalculate it to today's dollars, as well as removing the cap to ensure the surviviability of our safety nets.

Do you agree? If not, why not? Other ideas can be inputted here.

I'm a SS recipient since 2001, and I'm only 34 - but I do have a documented and legitimate disability (shouldn't be hard to figure out what it is)

Since when the frack was being a DUmmy "a documented and legitimate disability"?!?!

Pathetic...

THE ****ING WORLD HAS GONE INSANE AND I WANT OFF!!!

Considering some of the "quality" union thug employees of the shipyards, I don't think they really dig that deep.

Geez. It's like listening to a little kid say he wants to be an astronaut, or a fireman. He wants to be a veterinarian, but is already trying to find out which subjects he can bypass. He seems to think it's a few extra courses.

Wow. That's an understatement. It reminds me of the old '80s Saturday Night Live skit where Harry Shearer says that he and his brother have decided to devote the next ten years of their lives to men's synchronized swimming, although his brother can't swim. His childish musings on changing careers from fraudulent disability recipient (he claims to be working in his father's business) to veterinarian make me think his disability is based on retardation:

They won't be able to get a work visa for them to be test animals, but they are only qualified for that position at a vet school...

Geez- this guy could be my relative if he lived in another state and was 7-8 years younger.  Vet school is medical school, and one of the hardest to get in. This relative didn't even finish high school (somehow finished his GED), won't work because he doesn't like someone telling him what to do, yet proudly announced at a family get together that he was considering going to vet school because he loved animals. I swear, I had to leave the room to keep from laughing directly in his face! Once I regained my composure, I asked if had thought of looking into the role of vet tech.  He even had the audacity to say (a quote that will forever go down in infamy in my family): "Ya'll know that if I'm going to do something, I'm going to go all the way.".  Oh man- as mean as it sounds, it is something my cousins and I still laugh about because he is the poster child of never finishing anything and blaming all his troubles on others. I bet he has an account on DU.  I think I'll ask...
