Now...about those 2 wars...

Remember those? Those two wars STILL going on, those two wars that cost several billion dollars per day to conduct, 2 wars that seem to go on forever, what do they have to do with me and you and the health care debate?

I haven't forgotten about these two wars, but America has.

You've forgotten, mopaul, otherwise you and your fellow primitives would be talking about it so much it would take up half the threads in GD like it did during the Bush years.  You also don't talk about the high gas prices, or Gitmo, or impeachment for Dear Leader for doing some of the same things you wanted Bush impeached for doing, or the renewing of the Patriot Act, or any number of other issues.  You see, the wars and all these other issues are OK now.  Dear Leader is the prez.

Which makes you and the rest of the primitives......................... hypocrites.

But we already knew that.

It took 14 yrs, the entirety of the state treasury...severl times over, and a crippling percentage of male youth for te Romans to defeat the armies of Hannibal and compel terms of peace from Carthage.

Even then Carthage had to be destroyed in a separate campaign until it was destroyed and the ground sown with salt.

Fight 'em now or fight 'em later we must fight them nonetheless until one of us is destroyed. The last thing we need, though, are back-biting cowards.

My mole has tried unsuccessfully several times to get them whipped up about the wars, drone strikes and failures to ratify certain weapon ban treaties.

No you moron I have not forgotten. While you were busy forming your ass to the sofa with a bong attached to your face I was over there. While you were whining about free pot for all the kids my husband was over there and getting ready to go again. No you miserable leech on society I have not forgotten.

Unfortunately, if you examine the history of the Punic Wars, our post-Cold War foreign and defense policies have a much closer resemblance to the half-assed, semi-committed Carthaginian way of prosecuting a war than they do to the utterly-relentless, implacable, win-at-all-costs Roman approach.

They think it's a failure if America doesn't suffer more fatalities, and return in shame.
