As I write this, Stupak’s congressional opponent has picked up two thousand fans on Facebook in about two hours. Ten thousand by tomorrow, I’ll bet.

There were 3,100 when I joined.  The country will send Stupak a message -- it's all about accountability.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I'd say that the yes vote fromStupek is a boon for Benishek.

I'd say that the yes vote fromStupek is a boon for Benishek.

I'm not so sure it's an actual endorsement of Benishek nearly as much as it's a rejection of Stupak. Benishek merely finds himself in the right place at the right time.

I read his web site and from the face of it, he looks like a solid conservative. Fiscally responsible, small government, 2nd Amendment, etc. But let's not lose sight of the fact that his district has a Dem in there at present (I have no idea how long Stupak's been in the seat).

So without getting into the whole 100%er/RINO/etc argument, Benishek is going to have to get his message out during his campaign and capitalize on his momentum. Otherwise, his candidacy might be as effective as a fart in a hurricane....

It's not an endorsement from me. Just saying that he is benefiting from Stupak's vote. I've never heard of him.

I would imagine that 75% of those in Stupid's district haven't heard of him either.  13,000 on facebook is nothing to be impressed with if maybe 1% are actually IN the district in question.  The numbers are an unreliable measure, if the "fan count" has - for lack of a better term - been DU'ed.

Yes, I understood that. Problem is, nobody knows him well right now. He (Benishek) just announced his candidacy a couple weeks ago.

Well, it becomes a bit interesting when the $$ start rolling in. It puts Benishek on the proverbial "map" and forces the Dems to take a solid look at what's going on in that district -- or not.

Now that Stupak was stupid enough to actually believe that Lord Zero would issue an EO and keep it in place, hell, the Dems will probably want to dump him just because he's stupid. Watch who else might surface in the Dem party in the primary and see how quickly Stupak gets thrown under the Dem bus....

I agree. But, and it's a big but, you have to take into account that he had only 2,000 yesterday. Living in his district is meaningless. Most donor money come from outside the district. Donor money equals ad time.

400 fans prior to Stupak's sellout.   The far majority are out of state.   Makes no difference.  A money bomb, is a money bomb.   Let's hope it translates to Stupak losing his seat.

With all the outrage I am hearing about, the Leave it to Beaver star can run against Stupak, and win.

Almost 54% are actually angry. In Detroit, of all places -- just about one of the most liberal shitholes on the planet. Surprising.  :o

Both sides are mad about the Executive Order deal with Stupak, for different reasons.  Even NOW is angry about it....but not because they are pro-life, obviously.

LOL, well, this is finally the end of Stup(id)ak's career, he'd been there since 1992 I think. He yanked the whole country around and then voted as his party told him to, and tried to act reassured by some executive order that doesn't mean anything. I'm tired of hearing the MSM say he's "pro-life", that's not going to wash any more.
