I happened to run across one of those rare queer threads not started by DUmmy ccharlesnumbers:

Aging issues can be tougher on gays
 By Tom Watkins, CNN
March 17, 2010 6:12 p.m. EDT

CNN) -- Last Christmas, Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Dennis Engelhard was putting flares near a minor accident on a snowy road in Eureka when he was hit by a car and killed.

"I'd had a premonition about it," said Kelly Glossip, 43, Engelhard's domestic partner of 15 years.

The openly gay couple had discussed what might happen if Engelhard were to die in Missouri, a state that does not recognize same-sex partnerships, he said.

"He had faith in the system and told me not to worry about it," Glossip said from his home in suburban St. Louis.

But now Glossip, who works only part time in a billing office because of back problems and who supports his 17-year-old son, is worried and angry.

The state would have given a pension to the wife of any officer killed on the job but has no such provision for domestic partners, Glossip said.

(SNIP)
Many older LGBTs' financial woes can be traced to the fact that discrimination was legal during their working lives, which often meant thinner paychecks, limited access to health care, fewer chances to build pensions and smaller Social Security payments, the report said.

So the DUmmies whine on and on about how they should be able to share insurance benefits with the guy in the next stall at the rest stop men's room. How every perversion they can think of should be legally recognized and supported by the taxpayers.

2. Yet another reason why marriage equality is so important.
It's not "just a word."
DUmmy racaulk is partially right. It't not just a word, it's a consecrated union between a man and a woman.

After the DUmmies discuss all their dreams for a queer utopia, where a man and his sheep can be recognized as a family, DU Adbot strikes again:

The more they whine and lament, the more cemented is my belief that marriage should remain as God intended.

BTW, when I went over, Adbot continued to mock them.  This time with a very masculine looking guy "Holmes on Homes" a TV show about home construction/improvement.  A real man, in other words.

I am always perplexed by this 'no pension right' line of crap.  Why would you not just buy an insurance policy covering the 'spouse'  in the event of death.  It passes tax free and any left overs could be further passed on to others unlike the 'widow's pension'.    Not that tough if you plan ahead.  Geeze.   :thatsright:

Twinkies don't want to go to Beaufort, SC, especially during the summer.  The few that didn't mysteriously end up in the swamps would find themselves eaten up by mosquitoes went they ventured into the woods to do whatever it is they do.

NUTS, anyone can adopt another at any age to insure that person can get same rights as a birth child.

Nuts, a power of attorney will cover problems if there is a question as to health care for anyone, can in fact block the blood family from using next of Kin rights.

NUTS,When one member passes on, that Power of Attorney gives the living partner more rights then a wife or husband has.

Nuts, A Will can be broken and manulipated by family of the decesed.

Nuts, one can take out life insurence on most anyone as long as the insured agrees.

NUTS, What Gay Marriage means is that the couple want to adhear to convention by word but not by deed.

I have yet to see an African American demand to be allowed to join in at October Fest and dance the triditional German Folk Dances.

Nuts, very confused, as always on this subject.

Aren't most states willing to let them have a civil union? I know Idaho does not, but we're still living in the stone age [/DUmbass].

Many states are bending over, pun intended, in order to appease these freaks of nature, yet they want more, more, more and it's all about me, me, me!!

If they ever get their way, why not just marry Fido? Just think of the tax bennies! After all, knowing these asshats, the dog 'prolly humps their leg 3 times a day and they enjoy it! Wouldn't that qualify, if a law is passed recognizing "butt-bandits" and "carpet munchers" as a married couple? We wouldn't want to leave any pervert or perversion out of this legal lunacy!

Do the DUmmies realize that we had private retirement accounts that they could probably name anyone they want as a beneficiary??

1.  IF the judge lets you; adoption is not a right.

2.  It can happen that way.  Or not.

3.  A POA is only good as long as the Grantor is alive, it's useless when he or she dies.  That's when the will or the State intestate succession laws kick in.

4.  Possible, a lot more likely to turn out that way if you wrote it yourself or used a form than if you had a pro do it though.

5.  Not really.  The insured can take out a policy and make anybody he or she wants the beneficiary, which is not the same thing at all.

6.  I don't really know what to say on that one, I'll just leave it at 'It may be a lot of things, but it ain't marriage as far as I'm concerned.'

7.  Go to Oktoberfest in Munich, I guarantee there will be some Black people from the US military there drinking and enjoying it, and any dancing is mostly done for the show, not by the drinkers anyway.

8.  Yeah, we knew that.

FGL, that is a good point.  Plus, pensions are so rare these days, one really has to look out for themselves and their loved ones.  Think it through, plan ahead.  Oh yeah, I guess that's just for us, not DUmmies.  Pensions are freeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Not a lot of responses over there.  Just K&R's.  Big whoop.

Here's a funny story and comments about Teh Gheys:
