I was reading through the bill preparing this summary when I ran into.. student loan reform???  What.. taking over 1/6th of our economy isn't enough, now they want the student loan business back too?  The government screwed student loan underwriting into the ground decades ago, why give it back to them now?  Is this part of the savings that offset all of the tax gifts to their friends in the revision?  This post may not even be coherent, but I'm even more upset than I was when this was just messing with one major aspect of my life.

Why not ? Obama wants to decide who gets healthcare, as well as who gets to go to school.

Actually.....the takeover of the student loan program is where they get approximately half of the ficticious 138 billion in "deficit reduction" that this scam needs to qualify for a "reconciliation".......without including those numbers (and the increased taxes) the bill wouldn't qualify, and be therefore.....dead......

Just another Democrat ponzi scheme......

The takeover attempt is official.  I went hunting at the CBO to see if anything specific had been requested on this .. yup!  Senator Gregg received a response to his request and it contained this excerpt:

"As you requested, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has prepared two estimates of the budgetary impact of the President’s proposal to eliminate the federal program that provides guarantees for student loans and to replace those loans with direct loans made by the Department of Education"

This isn't just a ponzi scheme for messing with the numbers on health care, it's an agenda item and the whole agenda isn't in the health care bill.

How fun will the next part of the health care agenda be since this isn't the last step of that strategy either.
