A question and a poem
« on: March 17, 2010, 04:32:46 PM »
First the question. What has happened to the DUmmie of the Year winner? Is she ill? Been banned from the island?

Now to the poem. I was out working today, and it was one of those days when nothing seemed to go right. This poem came to me almost like an epiphany. As hard as it is to believe I wrote it in a fraction of a second. I just had to share it. I know when some of you read it you'll say, "man, I sure wish he would have waited 24 business hours to share that."

A Bright Spot

The sand gnats gnaw at my flesh.
Gnaw. Gnaw. Gnaw.

The air is growing
ever colder.
Where is Global Warming?

Storm clouds are building.
It looks ever dreary.

Like my day.
Gray. Gray. Gray.

Sadness creeps in
as raindrops fall
upon my face.

Then I smile.
There is a bright spot.
At least I'm not a DUmmie.

You all sound like DUmmies fawning over one of their own's poems....   :puke:

Sadly, I don't think I'm yet ready for open mike night. I just noticed that I rhymed "day" and "gray. Also, thanks to dutch, I see that I probably should have added one more "gnaw" and one more "gray".

I guess I have work to do before I rank up there with the poetic grates.

By the way, I do know the difference between great and grate.

Did you know that rank can mean having a very strong and bad odor or something which is disgusting?

I think she got run over by an out-of-control laundrymat.  You have to watch those buildings... they can be sneaky.

I do believe that we were mocking the DUmmy's. I thought USA4ME did a great impersonation of C-Peg though. Got her down to a tee.

Now THAT is a winner. It's amazing how you worked in "swingset" and "testicals". Or is that redundant?

Poem isn't  too bad, but it needs to have four grays and four gnaws. Red lights always blink, blink, blink, blink.

There are several theories on the absence of Top DUmmy Pam. Although she has become an object of scorn at the DUmp since winning the 2009 title, she hasn't been tombstoned, so there has to be some other reason for her disappearance.
1. She lives with a violent drunk who just bought a Glock. No word in the news media, but no one has checked for freshly turned earth in her backyard. She's told us about Mark's drinking and his violent streak, and she's posted a photo of his pistol.

2. She works for a control freak jerk of a principal there at Jardine. She's told us many times about what a jerk he is. If he discovered he had the Top DUmmy of 2009 on his teaching staff, it could have caused serious repercussions.

3. She could be developing a new storyline about a trip to the hospital. She tries to keep it quiet, but she's on chemo.

4. She was very mad about being stalked by some pricks, possibly some of the people here. On her behalf, I've asked all the pricks here to stop stalking her, though not one word has been written about her that didn't come right out of her postings. Of course, someone as stupid as Pam can't remember what she's posted.

ChuckJ~  Please please please please get your poem copyrighted ASAP.  It is a yummy little gem that needs to be protected.

Dutch~ What can I say?  Any poem that can refer to both pogosticks, and hovercrafts is a piece of art to be reckoned with for sure!

I sit in awe at the company I keep.

Sending you both pictures of hands:

God alone suffices.
