Where's the $#&%@ sun Monday???
« on: March 15, 2010, 07:40:07 AM »
Another weekend, another nor'easter -- it's getting old!!  All rain and wind this time.  I have water in the basement, it's coming in the back corner by the old coal chute/storage area (old house) since there's basically a lake in our backyard.  Luckily it only happens when there's an extreme amount of rain.  Also, there's a leak in the roof by the chimney so we have to check the flashing and the shingles when it finally stops raining.  Lots of pine branches down (we live in the Pine Barrens) and flooding -- whee!!  :banghead:

Cool and humid outside today.  It should warm up and burn off some of that later today; should be nice here.

Back at work.  Damn time change... I got no sleep.  Bleh.

37 & foggy on the way to work.  Supposed to hit the mid-50's today and most of the week.  Almost all the snow is gone from the golf course, although I highly doubt we'll be playing until April 1st.  I would imagine the ground is just a touch soggy after our 80 some inches of snow this winter.

70 mph gusts this morning.  4-5 inches of rain since Sunday morning.  My back yard is a lake.

Route 1 in Hampton Falls was flooded out (and it wasn't even high tide yet).  Got to work, and the support buildings (of which I'm in one) were without power.  Usually that's a cue to send all but non-essential personnel home.

No such luck.  Worked in the dark for 4 hours unless we were in the plant.  Power just came back.  The mechanics were ready to go home, and they are piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssseeeeeeeeddddddd.

Yeah, the morning was pretty nice, but now it's clouded over.  :(   I received a new computer case that I ordered last week. Somebody on the forum has one just like it!!  :-D

Spent my day in DC. Three of those hours were in Arlington walking through the cemetery. Wow.

Caught the end of a changing of the guard at the Tomb which was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Wish my camera took video though.

Cape May, NJ for sure, then possibly NYC for a day or two, then head back to Texas.

In the mid 40's today, breezy, gloomy and sprinky dinkin'. Again.

It was however, an improvement over the last 3 days of heavy rain.

There's a rumor the sun is going to shine on Friday..... :whatever:

If you're in Cape May, try the Lobster House if you're looking for a good place to eat!  They have their own fleet that comes in every day with fresh catch. You can either eat in the restaurant or out on the dock -- or on the Schooner America which is moored right there at the dock.

There's also Cape May lighthouse you can climb if you like stairs!
