DUmmy AllyCat Spins A Rare Pediatric Bouncy

DUmmy AllyCat, who should have consulted a dictionary before signing up at the DUmp, spins a bouncy tale of pediatric woe:

No waiting in the best health care system in the world...Right.
My son has been struggling with double ear infections for weeks that respond slightly to antibiotics, never really go away, and then come charging right back. Pediatrician said he needs tubes placed, but in the meantime, we'll try one last antibiotic that is so infrequently used anymore, some bacteria no longer have resistence and are killed by it. "When should I bring him back in for a recheck?" I asked. "They'll do that at the ENT. Get an appointment right away". That right away appointment will be on the 26th. Of APRIL!! His eardrums will burst by then. I explained to the unit clerk that I needed something sooner as he is already having major problems. "Sorry, that's the first available". And that's just the consult, not even the surgery.

That's over 6 weeks. But thank goodness I'm not in Canada! I might have to wait a few days for their socialized care.

While we wait, I'm trying homeopathics. And took him to the chiropractor today. He's on probiotics. Any other suggestions?

Well, I assume ENT means the ear/nose/throat specialist, and an initial appointment with those guys takes some waiting if you are not referred, and if you do not have an emergency. If this DUmbass were telling a true story, either the kid is okay right now, or else the pediatrician would have given a referral for a much quicker appointment. And that's a great plan to take your kid to homeopath quacks while you wait.

2. Emergency room when you need it.
Best I can come up with.
If he really needed it, he'd already be at the ENT office.

DUmmy Lagomorph has a problem that's quite common at the DUmp:

4. I hear you....
I went to the doctor in January with urine the color of Welch's grape juice.

My exam is scheduled for May 25.
It's not an emergency when you fail to read the instructions that came with your Whizzinator.

DUmmy jtucknumbers is a low-post-count DUmbass, risking a tombstone by defending an American doctor:

6. Call the pediatricians office and see if you need another alternative

Tell them what right away is and see if that is too long. I would guess if he or she thought it was really an emergency, and not just really uncomfortable, he would be admitted. Else the doc would risk malpractice.

Lousy Freeper Troll!

Can anyone imagine their grandmother being one of the faceless mob of lunatics at the DUmp?

8. My granddaughter is on heart pills
her thyroid is swollen. They need to see a specialist because she is so young. The soonest she could get in for a follow up is the end of July. Her dad will be home from overseas at that time and planning on having the kids then. So they tried to reschedule. The next date she could get in is the end of September.

Her mother is worried sick about her.
No waiting in the USA, huh?

At the DUmp, even grandmothers lie!

13. Seriously? That's awful! We need more docs. Oh wait, the AMA limits admissions
to med schools to keep salaries high. Who cares about patient care.

The ones who are too DUmb for med school, even under affirmative action, can still go to a Caribbean diploma mill, or enter one of the lucrative fields of "alternative" or "natural" medicine quackery so popular at the DUmp. The DUmmy could get a quick appointment with a shaman for some strong juju.

Yet your savior the Marxist dickhead 0bama wants to add another THIRTY MILLION OR MORE TO THE HEALTH CARE ROLLS = AND ALL FREE TO THEM!
Of course lord zero dickhead and his Satanist democrat tools in Congress have made ZERO appropriations for MORE health care professionals such as ENT doctors and specialists.
The day after 0bamacare socialized health care passes, a million or more of those illegal aliens that now get MY TAX DOLLAR SUPPORTED health care for free will be lining up at those ENT offices for treatment. Your wait will go from 6 weeks to no less than six MONTHS! Do the math you dumbed-down, socially engineered bitch. Of course you can't - the only schooling you ever engaged in was screwing anything on 2-4 legs that moved, parking lot bong sucking rallies, and a small semester of female vagina awareness.

Where do these people live ?  I have never waited weeks for immediate care.  My kids either.

I love this country with all it's flaws even if they don't.  I call  :bs: on her story.  No doctor let's a child suffer.

She needs to find another doctor.

Does a chiropractor check ears ? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

Lady, maybe the hysterics can be chalked up to being a mom but since it is part of the requirements for being a DUmmy I will presume it was just to embellish the thread.

You have already been treating this for weeks by your own admission and the doctor still is.
The overblown reaction to a checkup in a month is nothing but idiocy to try to become part of the news story as all you loons feel compelled to do for whatever reasons.  ::)

My medical stories...

Five years ago I had a hernia, been a nagging thing for several years and I ignored it but it was getting worse.
I got a diagnosis in a clinic and an appointment set up with a surgeon.
Saw him a week or so later and he set a surgery date for 2-3 weeks after that.
It wasn`t an emergency and was all taken care of start to finish in a month.

Last summer had something "pop" in my left calf, was like a stretched rubber band letting go.
That was on a Saturday and limped through Sunday.
Called a clinic Monday morning and was in at 10:30.
Partial rupture of the Achilles tendon was the diagnosis and that it will get better on its own in a few days.
Said thanks that was all I wanted to hear, paid a 20 or 30 dollar co-pay and was out the door.

This is a rural area so that may make it easier to access someone quicker just because there is less population to deal with but the point is the same, there was no problem whatsoever getting what I needed and having it affordable with the insurance I have through work.

Well AllyCat, let me tell you about the lump my ex found under her arm. Took her 8 weeks to see an internist in Quebec, who wasn't sure if it was something to worry about or not, and referred her to a specialist. Another six weeks later, the specialist looked at it, and told her it was just a cyst. If it had been breast cancer, 14 weeks were wasted. In any case, she went through 14 weeks of hell wondering if she had breast cancer.

Assuming that there is any truth in this story, the first thing to do would be to call around and find another ENT specialist who is fairly local.  If that isn't possible, then call the pediatrics office, explain the situation, and see if they can call the ENT specialist to get your son in any earlier.  What will not help is complaining about it online.

If Obama Hell-Care passes many experienced doctors will either retire or go part time and it will take six months instead, if at all. This brilliant plan of nationalizing health care will drive up demand and drive down supply. With prices unable to escalate there is only one direction for this to go, rationing and long wait times.

The only time I have really had to wait (6 weeks) was for a visit to an audiologist for tinnitus. My PCP actually scheduled my initial visit with the ENT doctor which was like a week after they scheduled it. My rheumatologist was always booked and hard to get into if it wasn't an emergency but if I was in pain or really concerned about something they would always work me in.  That is why I always scheduled my next visit at the end of every appointment.

I did try to get my oldest daughter in to see an allergest after we moved to CA. I couldn't get her in until 6 weeks later. But then again, it wasn't an emergency.  I got in to see a rheumatologist, an orthopedic surgeon, ocular plastic surgeon (I had to wait two weeks for this appt, but again not an emergency), opthamologist, retinal specialist and also had a nerve/muscle test within a week of my doctor scheduling it. I have seen all of these doctors since moving here and the only one I had to wait a couple of weeks on was the orthopedic surgeon and ocular plastic surgeon, both were acceptable in length of time for an appointment.  The Retinal Specialist saw me the very day, in fact immediatly after my opthamologist called and asked him to see me.  Also I can schedule my foot surgery anytime I am ready.  Try getting that kind of service in Canada.

That thought crossed my mind , also. Knowing that mental illness abounds at the DUmp, there's a good chance of it.

My son had the same problem. Can't remember how long we waited (if at all) to see the ENT - we had a referral from our doc to the guy he always uses for this. Big, dopey looking pediatric ENT who always wore bow ties. I was never warned about bursting ear drums and, though painful they will heal in about 3 or 4 weeks. Jake went through every antibiotic known to man as well. While waiting for surgery his pediatrician kept him on a low dose of antibiotics...kept the infection at bay enough that the short wait wasn't detrimental to his health/hearing. Be a little proactive, mom! Talk to the damn pediatrician. Besides, the ENT does this all the time. Day in, day out. I'm sure they're quite well versed about safe time frames for surgery.
