Underwear, Mountain Of Sand Angers Neighbors

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A home in Volusia County is sparking outrage Friday. A homeowner has strung up women's underwear and built mountains of sand in the back and neighbors are desperate for help.

The owner is a minor celebrity of sorts in other cities. The homeowner, Robert Hodges, calls himself “Prince Mongo.” His home has women’s underwear hanging outside on a clothesline.

On his website, Hodges claims to be from the planet Zambodia and is 333 years old. Hodges says he is here to save the world, but he's ruining his neighbor’s world.

Hodges didn't have a permit for his deck last year and Volusia County found out. That's when the Prince Mongo began painting his home bright colors, including witch illustrations directed toward a neighbor.

In late January, a mountain of sand was delivered and then the underwear started flying. Neighbors said the display grows almost weekly.

"I have a spaceship coming that’s going to carry 333 spirits, 333,000 spirits from earth," Hodges stated.

Up here it is not unusual to have neighbors bury a bath tub on end leaving about 3 feet above ground and stuff a Virgin Mary inside.  Also have seen old toilets used as planters.

We have allot of Artsy Fartsy folk that can and do take trash and make it into part of their landscaping.

I myself get a kick out of some of the weird stuff people put in their yards. Wood cut outs of bears way up in a tree, deer or moose replicas in the yard.

Reminds me that years ago some wealthy Arab bought a manson in Beverley Hills and had these huge statues erected of anatomically correct males around the yard.  The wealthy went gaga over that but could do nothing about it.

I've seen people do that to their houses and yards.

Still looks like trash.

Some of those panties look pretty dowdy and on the large side.  I wonder if the clothesline is more functional than decorative.

Even for Florida that's eccentric.

Lots of stuff one can do with a used bath tub,

Haul it out to the pasture to water live stock.

Fill it with jello and invite the neighbors over.  Nothing like a jello bath.

These new plastic ones are not good for nothing, you need the big old claw foot iron tubs to really have fun.
