Home alone and hungry.
« on: March 05, 2010, 06:18:25 PM »
Wife and son are at a banquet we were going to attend tonight. The local Boy Scouts last year started a local "Boy Scout Hall of Fame" to honor past Scouts of this county who have made their mark in life. Tonight they are inducting Charles Duke, a former astronaut http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Duke He will be addressing the scouts at the ceremony. I gave up my place at the table so my sons best friend could go with him (non scout but from a very religious family).

It's kind of ironic that Charles Duke has been to the moon when his brother, a local doctor, has never flown in an airplane due to a life long heart condition.

Now where did she hide that junk food?

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

It's behind the veggies in the fridge. And the Oreos are in the pantry behind the coffee filters.  ;)

Stay out of the chocolate!  :hammer:
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

I just had a left over chocolate santa, the chocolate crisp kind.  I can't believe they have lasted this long after christmas...but I am doing great on my diet and wanted a treat.

I was watching Giada on Food Network and she gave me a dangerous idea.  Nutella frosted brownies sprinkled with nuts and mini chocolate chips.  Keep me away from the baking aisle and Publix this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

No junk food here either.  I got some tortilla chips and half a bag of oranges.

I'm tryin' to lose some weight. :(

The oranges are hit or miss.  A couple were really good, tart and juicy.  Another one was dry and flavorless.

Clementines have been in for some time at Sam's, also saw them at Food City last week.

I made the boys a big banana pudding ( :puke: ) yesterday, and myself some plain vanilla. I also made real whipped cream to go on them. I've been adding mini chocolate chips to my puddin' and cream ...

We're a "mixed" household.....I don't eat bananas under any circumstances, M eats bananas and chocolate, but he gave up chocolate for Lent (I didn't :evillaugh: ), Son eats bananas but rarely anything with chocolate as somehow I managed to have a child who doesn't really care for chocolate... Hence the reason for the different puddings. :-)

I was once on a diet where my only indulgence during the lunch break was a chocolate bar and a banana. When you eat them together it almost has a banana split quality to it. You can ask your husband.
