Actually this tale of woe is a pretty good advertisement for how well capitalism works. He has a choice of what pharmacy he wants to take his business to. This incident has given him an opportunity to compare services of a different pharmacy with the one he's been frequenting for years (frankly, if the CVS pharmacist went to all that trouble when she clearly didn't have to, that says a lot about that pharmacy). Turns out, he prefers his regular pharmacy. Choice is a wonderful thing.

This tale sounds a lot like the classic Johns Hopkins mailroom bouncy.

What a waste of bandwidth. DUmmy probably gave Target the Catalyst info years ago, and they had it on file from then on. The only person at fault here is the DUmmy.

How can you not know who your insurer is? He doesn't want to spend ANOTHER night like the last one (which he obviously survived), but he'll spend HOURS driving around so he can swallow some codeine? I get strep throat every single frickin' year. It's miserable and hits me REALLY quickly. Every time I've gone to urgent care or the emergency room and been worried about not finding a pharmacy that was open, I've asked and been given antibiotics there, often with a pain medication chaser. If this guy just had a cold, why would he be given antibiotics? I can see cough medicine but antibiotics would be completely useless in his situation. Even so, why not just get a bottle of NyQuil, take some when you get home and go to the pharmacy in the morning? How sick could someone be if they can spend hours driving around? He bitches about everyone involved from the emergency room to the pharmacy, yet the pharmacist spent a tremendous amount of time she wasn't obligated to spend working on the issue of a belligerent asshole who just HAD to get an oompa loompa  NOW. A problem which wouldn't have existed had he known what company provided his drug coverage. But not once did he even consider his own role in this fiasco. He was inconvenienced by his own uninformed stupidity. No point in being grateful for the time and effort expended on him...he's a DUmmie and entitled.

Cindie

I have a running script for anti's I have to take every time I even feel like I'm gettin' a cold. Pneumonia can set in overnight in my case.

Having said that, I have 2, count 'em 2, you DUmbass DUmmie, cards, for my HealthCare. One for the Doc, and one for the Pharma. I thought even idiots knew that! Apparently, pukes aren't that bright! Thank the good Lord wifey isn't as DUmb as a sack o' hammers! Amazing since you consider yourselves the smartest people on the planet!

Die ya frikkin' loser, DIE! You'er nothin' but a drain on the people who can actually think,  without pullin' their pants down to get oxygen to their brain!

Lord help me, that's a lousy thing to say, but I've had just about enough of these useless pukes who think we owe them something!

Why is the primitive bitching about this?

What's an extra ten bucks when one's at Death's door?

What's an extra ten bucks in this booming Boconomy?

My thoughts exactly.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

My daughter had a run-in with our broken health system recently.  She had a baby 7 months ago, but hasn't been able to find a job, so hasn't paid either the hospital or the doctor.  (She is in a CNA course, so hopefully that will turn around soon.)

ANYway, she had a major asthma attack this last weekend, and went into our local ER - the same hospital she still owes for the birth of her baby.  She has no insurance and no money...so what do you suppose happened to her in this broken health system we have??

Why, they took her back within about 10 minutes, checked her SATs and gave her a breathing treatment.  They wrote her a couple prescriptions ...which we filled at Wal-Mart for less than $20.  And she was back home within two hours, feeling much better.

Stupid broken system...   :thatsright: :rotf: :rotf:

This story reminded me of that stupid email that went around a couple years ago;

http://www.mail-archive.com/alexbennettprogram@googlegroups.com/msg00543.html

Guess what DUmbass.  The laws you liberals claim to have put in place cause 75% of that crap.  Hope you are enjoying your cold.

KC

The water is clean and good because some
tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards - but, of course, it now costs him every time he turns his faucet on...because liberals couldn't be bothered to do the work required to make their own water supply clean...Uncle Sam had to do it for them.

His
medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought
to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.  Of course, they're 400% more expensive since all those needless lawsuits...

All but $10
of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because
some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical
insurance...but we're now going to replace that with a great government deal...for only $4000 in taxes, you can count on $1000 in healthcare services!!

Joe's bacon is safe
to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the
meat packing industry...and took away Joe's right to raise his own pigs in the back yard, which he could have slaughtered for free.  So, Joe's bacon now costs him 300% more than it should...

His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its
amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal...actually cared.   :rotf:

The air he
breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought
for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air...for which Joe pays again, and thanks to his high tax rate, he can't move his family out of town...where the air really is clean.

overnment-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-
subsidized ride to work...for which he also pays because all the liberals in his neighborhood are too busy protesting to get a job and pay taxes, of course.

It saves him considerable money in parking
and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for
affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity
to be a contributor.  And that lib is really happy that Joe contributes...so he doesn't have to!

29. You are big part of what is wrong with american healthcare, not (for once) UHC

First of all you decide to see a medical doctor immediately -- because you have a bad cold or flu. That's NOT an emergency situation. You are overloading the system.

Then you complain because your copay to get emergency treatment is $10, which is more than your regular doctor. $10 to get an emergency consultation for a cold or flu? What a whiner. You had to wait two hours on a Saturday night to see a doctor? That's most likely because there were so many other people who didn't need emergency care ahead of you.

Next, you don't even know who your insurance company for drugs is? So several other people spend hours trying to find out information that takes your wife a few minutes. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You could have paid for the drugs and then filed the claim forms yourself to whoever your insurance company was to get reimbursed. Apparently this was too much trouble for you; you preferred to not get the medications at all, another example of how sick you weren't.

You demand immediate treatment for a condition that doesn't require it, are willing to pay next to nothing for it, and are willing to take hours of other people's time to find information that you ought to have on you. You ought to be ashamed of yourself, buddy. This was not UHC's fault, but your own.
