My daughter is a college freshman and is in a Post Civil War US History class.
She called me today and said that they are studying Progressivism and a student in the back of the class started giving the professor a hard time. The professor responded “leave Beck and Rush at the front door if you want to pass.”

Gang, the way a lot of college campuses are these days, with almost 100% of the faculties being left-leaning, I wouldn't doubt this one.

I think so too. Progressivism did start in the early 20th century. The student probably wanted to point out some early failures that have been continued through today.

Wonder where jojo's daughter goes to college. There's a professor at my school who is teaching a Progressives class this semester and I could see him saying that. Big reason I won't take any of his classes. No dissent allowed.

IOW the prof wants the students to ignore the truth.  I had maybe one or two profs like that.  You take notes, answer the way they want you to on the test, and otherwise you can learn from them by knowing the facts are the opposite of what they're teaching.

This one could real teachers like this are reason I'm thinking about taking some courses, but then I really enjoy slapping DUmmies no matter where they are.  :evillaugh:

Did you hear that Breitbart & crew is going to go after this crap?  Same undercover tactics.  Dissent = F?  At least be exposed for it.  If I was paying for college for my kid, you can be sure I'd raise holy hell over it.

Actually, Karl Marx published the Communist Manifesto in the mid-19th century, and the "progressives" of today really haven't changed much. And you'll never get these communist college professors in trouble for failing anyone who disagrees. The committees that decide on tenure are composed of people just like them. My daughter is dropping her Sociology class because even though she has all of the work completed correctly, she's "not understanding the essence of the material and the ramifications of her ideology." I told her she probably would get the same kind of crap the next time, take a C instead of wasting her time. Sadly. She's a Math and Science major, these soft sciences completely baffle her. She asked me what kind of fantasy world these tards live in. I said, welcome to reality.

My degree is in Sociology....

If she's in a lecture hall class....pick C on the multiple guess tests.

If she's in a smaller classroom...write down everything the instructor says, memorize it, and regurgitate it onto the test. As long as she answers the way the instructor thinks...she'll do fine.

Thanks. It's a small class, hopefully my daughter will learn to control her natural urges during discussion period. Otherwise, she will never get the grades she is used to receiving.

I was in school forever ago....but SDS and the Black Panthers were alive and well on my campus....lot of liberals!

I ended up with a concentration in Criminal Justice...so some of my classes weren't as liberal as some of the others. I had the same professor for 3 of my CJ classes and he was pro capital punishment. We got along just fine.  :-)

I have a minor in Antropology and loved it. If I had realized that I would never have a job in CJ, I would have majored in Anthro....might not have gotten a job back then, but now it's become a popular field due to forensic anthropology.
