Generational theft
« on: February 28, 2010, 08:30:16 PM »
Hi Folks,

I have been going back and forth on the Cubs message board with some younger folks about the health care bill.  They chided me for being a senior and just trying to be selfish and keep what I have.  I had a long discussion about something for nothing and how I believe that it is their generation that is really in danger.  More I thought about it, I decided to add to my post.  Thought I would pass it along.

What pleases me is on this web site is so many folks who are much younger than I that do really get it and understand what the government is doing to them and their families.

regards,

Hi guys,

Let me add one more point for all you younger folks out there who look at us seniors as complaining.

I stated my position on something for nothing and no need to repeat it.

Where I fear you, nor my children for that matter, do not get it is this.  Reagan cut taxes when I was in my 40's and created a business climate that worked very well.  During my working career, I worked my tail off like many of you are now doing.

At the same time, here is what you fail to realize.  When I was in my 40's and 50's the structure was in place that allowed me to create and keep wealth.  Your generation is not in that situation.  The federal and state taxes, government mandates etc. is going to syphon so much of your income you may be forced to work until you drop, or hope like mad that you can live on the non-existent social security trust fund when you get my age.  Generating and keeping wealth is being taken from you by the politicians and the sooner you see it and change it the better chance you have of a decent life for you and your family.

The next few generations will be born into massive debt, how is that for generational theft?

Hi,

Indeed it is generational theft only BO is from their generation.  What galls me is that the democrats manage to pit one age group or one working class against another when we should all gang up and throw all the bastards out and start over.

I suspect that I am a few decades younger than you are and I don't blame you one little bit for wanting to keep what you have.

You spent your younger years earning it.  You have every right to expect to keep it.

I think his socialistic views are bullshit.

I agree totally. When the necessity for deep entitlement cuts come due (or else) I will hope they will point at welfare FIRST and deepest before trimming Social Security, at least means testing MediCare, its slightly ridiculous to hear Rush Limbaugh crack jokes that he won't have a choice even though he pays cash. I had the image of the staff in that Hawaii hospital searching for a cash register.

Hi,

John McCain, bless his heart, made some doggone good points about tort reform and the impact it has had in Texas.  If one starts there, then ONLY treats emergencies for illegals, you might be surprised just how much it changes the entire health care picture.

They fill the ER now, everything is an emergency. As long as they can bill some government agency they don't care. I'd narrow it to giving them emergency treatment only at GOVERNMENT hospitals. You know, tax-funded county hospitals.

Hi Folks,

You're a Cubs fan?   My deepest sympathies (as a Red Sox fan, I been there -- the heartache, the tears in October, it's not an easy road I know).    I will make every effort to keep that in mind if I disagree with you going forward.     :-)

Hi,

I saw a thing on YouTube about a year ago where a hospital adminisrator here in Florida was up in front of a state commission discussing the illegals.  I learned a few things.

1.  No point in calling the feds, they do not respond.  Only if the illegal has committed a crime was the term the lady used.  What pissed me off was isn't "illegal entry" into this country a crime???

2.  According to the lady who testified, emergency care is not the problem.  She talked about the number of illegals who receive long term, costly treatment.  They have something like 8 kidney dialysis machines in the hospital and five are kept active with illegals costing the taxpayers many millions of dollars.  In one case they took the patient, chartered a medivac jet and flew the guy to his home country because it was cheaper than treating him.  They got sued by the family for doing so.  Her contention was the guy in the car wreck, kid with a broken leg, no problem.  You fix them and they are on their way.  It is the thousands of illegals who are flocking to the country in need of long term care that is really taxing the system financially.  Of course the state listened and did nothing.

3.  Go into any emergency room, particularly a county hospital, and my experience is that it is full of illegals and medicaid patients treating little Johnny for the sniffles.  The kind of treatment most of us take care of at our family doctor, they just go to the emergency room.  Johnny has the sniffles, a slight fever, it is off to the hospital they go.  That kind of treatment could be done at a clinic for a whole lot less money.

You must understand BO plenty understands this and that kind of care ain't good enough you see.  He sees white folks pay insurance premiums, or their employers provide insurance and they practice, "preventative medicine", because they can afford it.  Well he wants our tax dollars to provide that for the welfare and illegal class also......more than likely at the expense of not providing care for seniors, smokers, fat people, and if he could figure out a way to do it, republicans.  In addition he wants unions to have preferential treatment because they too vote democrat for the most part and that is justification enough for special favors.

You generation will bankrupt because of the democrats spending your money to stay in power.  You are really going to need someone to say enough is enough, and garner public support to overcome the whiney press and do-gooders and fix the real cause of the problem.  Start with term limits, it is a big step in the right direction.

If the Johnny has the sniffles buy kleenex and cough drops.

Juan could learn from that.
