Still snowing, still blowing hard and drifting but made it into work anyway. No school again -- poor kid's going to have to go through July 4th at this rate! Well -- happy Friday everybody!

We didn't get any more snow yesterday, but 25 miles to the west of me, they got 30+ inches.

Today's starting off a bit out-of-sorts, as I just found out that a co-worker, who seemed healthy yesterday, was found dead this morning by his wife.  He had been complaining yesterday of upper back pain--under a shoulder.

That's how it starts. Sounds like a heart attack. Prayers to his family.

Aw crap. Tell me that he didn't say it felt like a pulled muscle under the left shoulder blade.  I've had pains like that several times in the past year. :(

Didn't get to sleep until 0330 this A.M. because my physical problems were acting up last night. Took more medications early this morning in an attempt to get some sleep. Coffee is starting to kick in to alleviate the "drugged up" effect. Thanks to Bad Cat, I now buy my own beans and grind them myself so I can get some decent STRONG coffee. Nothing much to do today on my schedule, so I might just crawl back in bed. I dunno yet.

Went into the bedroom last night to watch tv about 7:30...I think I was asleep by 8:15. I slept until 9 this morning...it was wonderful!!!!  :-)

Have finished another report, and have one more to do later today.

Going to do some laundry and thoroughly enjoy the bright sunshine from inside the house as it's in the 20's outside! Sunshine is only temporary...supposed to rain and snow tomorrow.

Anybody heard from Sparky? Heard on the news earlier that NH had some really wicked weather last night. :(
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I talked to him yesterday and got a text from him this morning. He said the power kept flickering on and off from all the wind, but he's doing alright. He sent me a pic of a HUGE tree that had fallen...not sure if it was near his house or if he saw it on his way to work. I'm sure he'll post it when he gets home this afternoon.

Saturday Part I here. Nice having no school on Fridays. Going to clean up, do laundry, run some errands and do homework.

Getting ready for the hockey semi-finals tonight. Finland and US at 3 ET. Canada and Slovakia at 9:30 ET. I know where I'll be tonight. Gotta make sure to stock up on beer and snacks...

It was horrid, gusts to 91 mph, we lost shingles but thankfully the power stayed on in our part of town.

The biggest problem was all the rain we got this week, if had nowhere to go so pooled about the trees.   Once the ground was saturated the roots had nothing to dig into and fell on homes and closed off streets.

More outages they say then the ice storm of 98 that caused a state of emergency.

Sparkys area did get hit hard, my daughter and family live in that area and they are still without power.

Power was flickering at 10 last night. Failed for good at 10:30. The tree wasn't on the way to work...it was in front of the house.  Downhill side of street also blocked so I never made it to work. Road just got cleared so I got gas for generator and a pizza but will probably be without power until next week. Laundromat tomorrow and hot shower at work gym on Monday.  Man typing on cell is slow.

Thundley, that's exactly where he was mentioning the pain was.

You might want to get that looked at.

It's happened off and for the last few years, and I think mine is actually work related and a pulled muscle. Sometimes I have to use a pry bar repeatedly in a way that is similar to using a jack to lift a car.
