Liberals and atheists are smarter than other people
I have seen no evidence of this at DU.
At all.
In the current study, Kanazawa argues that humans are evolutionarily designed to be conservative, caring mostly about their family and friends, and being liberal, caring about an indefinite number of genetically unrelated strangers they never meet or interact with, is evolutionarily novel. So more intelligent children may be more likely to grow up to be liberals
That doesn't necessarily relate to DUmmies. It seems that most of them have some personal stake in entitlement programs. They're chronically unemployed - won't work or can't work because they are unable to socially relate to other people, think they are above certain kinds of work, object to the political philosophy of potential employers, refuse to start at the bottom of the ladder, fail to cultivate any marketable skills, are mentally unstable or claim to be too physically disabled to do anything productive. They can't ask their families for help because they've managed to alienate most of them. They wrap themselves in the cloak of "caring about others" when it's really all about them as individuals.
How many times have we seen them complain about the homeless and disadvantaged yet they won't lift a finger to help those people one-on-one? Oh wait, they will on occasion give a wino a cardboard box in which to sleep. How caring.
It requires no great nobility to demand that government extract "charity" from others at the point of a gun. It takes no sacrifice to address the needs of a hungry person by giving them the phone number to the local welfare office. There is no altruism in sending the down-and-out "good vibes" or pictures of your hands.
The largest non-government relief and humanitarian organizations in the world are sponsored by religious organizations or have people of faith at their helms. They're not waiting on government legislation, that may or may not materialize, to help people. Those are the people who care about the well being of strangers.
They are, by and large, not DUers.
