Metal Head or Dancing Queen?
« on: February 23, 2010, 11:51:49 PM »
So, I'm catching up with lots of friends from highschool on Facebook...I grew up in the 80's in New York and listened to both types of music....but hung out more with the guido type guys and gals ( I know...gag)  So anyway.....I realized that I missed out on some fun partying by NOT hanging out with the metalheads....although I was friends with them....They did all sorts of artificial and natural pharmaceuticals, so I opted to stay away from that during those formative years.

The past decade or so...I find myself listening to classic rock and metal quite frequently...and I find myself shunning that silly dancing music. The funny thing is....the dopehead/metalhead crowd now have successful, professional careers...Who would have thought?

On the other side of that coin ma'am; I've been out of school for over 20 years now.  To use your divisions, can you guess how many of my "Dancing Queen" friends are still single, still bouncing from dead-end job to dead-end job, and in some cases, still living under mama's roof?  The percentage of 'Dancing Queens' who are also 'Failure to Launch' is not statistically insignificant.

The majority of people I associated with in HS, when I associated with anyone were of that same ilk, myself included.  Before FB, when I went to my 10 year reunion, we just kept walking around patting ourselves on the back, we couldn't even believe how we all turned out, being professional and relatively successful.  To this day, I still don't know, but there it is.
