What I think is broken is our spirit of unity as Americans The two parties, and especially the repubs, place party above country.Disagreements are an important part of the human decision making process. Our system is designed to take advantage of this by allowing all voices to be freely heard. When we enter a world where those with opposing opinions are branded as evil at best we have thrown away our ability to make rational decisions.I do not know how we are going to get out of this situation. 9/11 may have been an opportunity for unity but we know what the Bush threw that chance out the door.I would love to see a reemergence of an American identity based on mutual pride of how great a nation we are. A focus on our generosity, knowledge, ingenuity, and the love to mankind our Statue of Liberty represents.I am afraid the hopes of a better future are being dashed by the fears of the past.

Careful there. What a DUmmy defines as "mutual pride of how great a nation we are", is considerably different than how we define it.
Wow...a DUmmie said that.
Fact: I thought this was a Dwight Schrute thread.
