Recovery Wednesday
« on: February 17, 2010, 06:53:03 AM »
Snow has come and gone.  About 6-7 inches at the house (the wet heavy stuff), but should melt fairly quickly by our standards (maybe by March) given we're predicted to have some pretty warm days until the next storm comes in next week.  Not even worth shoveling out, it'll probably melt that quickly.

Work is work.  Looking like I'm working this Saturday--yay OT!

I'm taking a couple of spontaneous vacation days this week  :cheersmate:  I'm actually surprised that my boss approved them, but now that they've said I could have the time off, I can't stop thinking about work  :thatsright:

Well CR, I hope you enjoy your days off.  Don't worry with work, it will be there for you when you get back.

Sunny day here.  Puts me in a better mood.

I'm taking a day off from work to repair the garage door and siding that some scumbag damaged when trying to break into it yesterday.

A small hammer would've torn the hasp off.  Glad they were too stupid to have tools.

Oddly, there is some dried blood on the paint near the lock.  The cop and I laughed thinking of ways they did that.

Going to make good use of the extra time, though, and bake some pies and bread for company that is coming this weekend.

I really want another vacation... I still have two and a half weeks of PTO for the year.  Max is three, so I'll have to take one eventually.  How unfortunate. :-)

Good luck getting that repaired.

Ash Wednesday here. I'm repenting.

God never changes.

God alone suffices.

W00T! :-)

I was told that we're up to 60 inches of snow this winter.  My country club's opening day is scheduled for a month from now.  Somehow, I don't think I'll be playing any golf here in mid-March. :banghead:

It's -4 in the Sandhills this morning.

Furnace busted; won't work at all.

Cats chilling, all slumbering atop the kitchen stove, to catch the heat from the various pilot lights.

Repairman coming.

I hope soon.

Cloudy and cold here today.

Went for a walk anyway.

Kids are supposed to finally go back to school tomorrow, with a 2 hour delay.

Looking at all this snow, I have no idea how the kids are supposed to start baseball in 3 short week.

The golf courses are a little soft here from alot of rain the past two months, but they were packed yesterday. It was 74 outside...

I have to take one of those "spontaneous vacation days" today, but it's because The Heiress has an ear infection.  Her day care won't let her go if she has a fever--for the following 24 hours.  My wife has a fair amount of work to do, while it's absolutely dead in my office.  So, I drew the duty home today.

It's the coldest 32 degrees outside!!!!

Very damp, occasional snow flurries, dark, drab and gloomy.

I either want it to snow about 6 inches and make everything white, bright and sparkly......or the sun come out and warm up. This cold damp gloominess is making me very bitchy.  :censored:

Making potato pancakes and cinnamon apples for dinner. Need to make something sweet and gooey....can't do chocolate as M gave it up for Lent (I was not about to do that - and God wouldn't want me too either  :uhsure: ) and T doesn't eat chocolate. How could I have a child that doesn't like chocolate....  :clueless:
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.
