poll: do we "sabotage" Skins's island?

A primitive from Skins's island wrote me yesterday (Saturday), alleging that decent and civilized people "deliberately" "sabotage" Skins's island.

There were so many misspellings and obscenities one's not sure this was a bona fide primitive, who gave no clue as to his identity on Skins's island, if one.

It was whined that by our quoting the primitives, we make them fearful of commenting on Skins's island, lest they be "made fun of."

In particular, the correspondent took franksolich to task for "bullying" primitives re: the current fund-raiser on Skins's island.

I have no idea what that's all about, but whatever.

Also, it was alleged that moles are "cowardly and dispicable" [sic].

Well, I dunno.

From the way the primitives themselves convulse Skins's island, I suspect all that decent and civilized people do is throw an occasional monkey-wrench into an engine already broken down.

Could not disagree more. Losers like the DUmmies have been ignored, overlooked, and discounted their entire pointless lives. Aside from drugs, they have a single burning, screaming need: attention. Seeing their words in cyberprint at the DUmp is a huge deal. The thought that other DUmpmonkeys, or even a few normal people, take time to read their words as if they have value has to be their proudest accomplishment. To have their words copied and quoted somewhere else on the innertubes is an honor beyond estimation. I'm sure the dream of being quoted here or some othere site stimulates many of the posts we see at the DUmp, especially some of the more, uh, "exceptional" posts that we discuss here. Far from sabotaging the DUmp, I believe the best bouncy tales and the most insane rants are written in hopes of being chosen for discussion by decent and civilized people. Many of the funniest comments and OPs come from the sediment at the bottom of the DUmp gene pool, and those people are far below the level where being "made fun of" is a matter of concern.

The only thing I have to add to this is that at CU in March, 2004 when robcrook created the "B/W of DU" forum, it shook DU to the core.  In April 2004, a nutso named supercrash posted about the forum at the DUmp and the floodgates opened.  Several primitives signed up to try and defend their foolishness, which only created more laughter from us and more traffic from the primitives.  Several primitives signed up just to PM other members, of which I was the fortuante recipient of several of their rants (keep in mind, CU had maybe 30 truly active members at the time, 20 of us which regularily ripped the primitives).  I wish I had saved the PM's I got, but not knowing what would eventually result in the future, I read them and enjoyed the entertainment value at the time.

I will say this much:  From the PM's I received, which were a minimum of 2 dozen from various primitives, they were not happy that we were taking their posts and making fun of them.  It pissed them off......... a lot.  No doubt it still does.

I think you are correct on both counts but that they both don`t always apply to every primitive.

It is clear that many say stupid and hysterical things to get noticed (dain bramaged) but you have to take notice of how many will bump their own stupid threads when they don`t get the accolades they yearn for.

It is those folks that can`t deal with the realization that they are idiots and we really are doing a service to them pointing it out.

Therein lies the crux of the matter. DUmmies like to say that we cherry pick. But how many losers are there on CC and CU like the DUmmy with the free drugs who lost his food stamps, that they could cherry pick from our midst? I can't think of any. Sure, not every DUmmy is a complete loser POS leech on society. But they have a lot more than their share of them.

I'm with you.  Their pitiable. scum bound lives depend upon the attention others give them and it doesn't matter one whit if it's positive or negative attention.  Attention is one of their most sought after, prized drugs and those writing emails to members here are seeking it just as they do on Skins Island.

So, do they think that by emailing the Mods and Admin here the mockery will cease?  They'd expire if it stopped!

That only recently happened.

As USA4ME mentioned, it's happened a lot to other members here, at our old home, and on freerepublic, but alas never to franksolich.

I'm not sure why, but the primitives have never approached me, even though I'm a nice guy, one of the nicest guys one can hope to meet, until I started using clarebootheluce@gmail.com as my e-mail for here.

I vote no - we do nothing to alter or prevent the primitives from posting - nor do we take privately written posts and display them publicly.

Everything we highlight come from public postings, and we refer back to the source so anyone who wants to investigate the postings on their own is able to so.
