Doesn’t it terrify you how many Americans are talking about a second Civil War?

There is no doubt that we are a divided country. But how many people have any idea of the incredible horror of war?

Evidently, anyone, Dem or Repub, who sees this as the answer to our county’s differences/divisions, are totally clueless as to the reality of war. It’s a term thrown around loosely because of mutual hatred.

My guess is that anyone who is ready to go to war over our differences doesn’t have a clue as to the actual experience of war. Perhaps as many as ¾ of a million Americans died in the Civil War. And that’s when there was a geographic division between US and THEM and far fewer Americans than exist today.

So the next time around, who are you going to shoot? Your neighbor with whom you disagree? Your fellow employee who you consider to be a moron? Your brother-in-law who you got into a fight with at the last Thanksgiving dinner?

My guess is that most who talk about war have never seen intestines oozing onto the ground. Have never seen grey brain matter splattered near a shattered human skull. Have never seen dead eyes staring off into nothingness. Have never crapped in their own pants because of fear.

My guess is that, most of those who talk about a second American Civil War will rethink their position after the first few moments of battle.

We don’t need a second Civil War. We need a civil discussion about our differing positions. Unfortunately, it’s a discussion that most Republicans and many Democrats don’t want to have because of our hatred of each other.

Well, my guess is that those who experience a day or two of war will quickly change their minds.

4. No, because Im hoping the elites recognize people are saying it out of frustration

In other words Im hoping they reconsider the policies and their own actions that have pushed people near the edge and do something to rectify the situation while theres still time.

If any of them are upset at the talk of possible civil war, it's because they know which side would win, and which side would lose.  They don't like that outcome.

It would be terrible for this country.  But, necessary?  Don't know.  Hope I, nor any of my kids, have to find out.

I saw this yesterday and wanted to ask the big nosed one what he meant by "¾ of a million Americans died in the Civil War. And that’s when there was a geographic division between US and THEM." Who is US and who is THEM? I would have gotten banned if I started with him. I would have pointed out yhat my GG Grandfather fought with the Army of Tennessee. It was the northern liberal yankee who screwed up this country.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I think the point he was trying to make was that it was a bigger proportion of the population than it would be now, and that since libs and cons are so mixed together, it would be like Rwanda.
