A restraining order would not have saved her (but obviously it should have been issued).
She would have been better served by a CCP.
That is EXACTLY what Mrs. E said.
I was stunned. While Mrs E and I both attended the NRA's basic firearm safety course back in 2007 in preparation for a CCW (I went on to get mine, she did not), she is still
somewhat certifiably afraid of firearms.
She said that the judge should've issued a letter, sent to the stalker, that essentially stated that while the applicant's personal protection order was declined, she's got a CCW and she's now packin' heat.
Mrs. E calls herself a liberal, but she's really a closet conservative with social liberal leanings.
For her to say something like this tends to give me hope. I think I'll keep the ol' gal.
