Current letter from Michael Steele
« on: February 05, 2010, 10:47:33 PM »
Hi folks,

Well I just got another urgent letter from Michael Steele urging me to renew my membership in the Republican Party.

I wrote a note on it saying that if they are not willing to demand their candidates sign the conservative pledge that was discussed they could count me out.  They must return to the conservative party of Reagan or I'm out.

This is probably the 20th piece I have sent back to them.  I would imagine there are lots of folks like me doing the same thing.  As the song said, "When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn????"

Personally I think Steele is not leading and should be replaced.

The RNC keeps sending me questionnaires. I am getting like 3 or 4 a month now.

Steele's primary reason for being is to raise money to support the campaigns of the party-affilliated politicians/candidates.  Just on that criterion alone, Steele is an abject failure as a leader of the GOP; failure on the scale of The Øne himself.

Watching the Dim'Rats and the Steele-ian Republicans go at it has been like watching two heroin addicts arguing over a plastic spoon.  (With apologies to Robin Williams for stealing/paraphrasing his line.)

Apparently the money they raise goes to support RINO's in primaries.

Hi FGL,

After I made the original post I started thinking about it.  I wonder if anyone else would agree with me.

I have done some work here for Marco Rubio in Florida who is running against an incumbent governor in the primaries for the senate seat vacated by Mal Martinez.  The state Republican Party endorsed Crist months ago even after he came out is support of BO Plenty's stimulus plan.

It just hit me.  What I see is not the republican party pushing candidates forward who are conservative; but rather I see individual candidates speaking out pushing the party.  Finally the head of the Florida Republican Party resigned and Rubio is now leading in the polls.  It is the individual candidates who campaign as conservatives, and where was it (New Jersey maybe) run as an independents that are trying to push the party in the right direction.

Same thing is happening to Mc Cain in AZ.  Had Palin not committed to help him months ago, my guess is she would be standing with the conservative.

Seems to me they are not much better at listening than the democrats are.....

Anyone else see it that way?

Apparently the Wash Post is now pushing the idea of Crist running an independent or 3rd party candidate if he loses the GOP primary. Typical.

Hi,

I would hope Crist knows better, Dimwit Nelson comes up two years later and Crist can beat him hands down.

If Crist runs as an independent he would insure the democrat gets elected and it would end his career.  Crist has visions of being president someday, he is a pretty boy, a politician and may just have the pedigre to get it done if he doesn't screw up.

I've been looking to no avail for my favorite news clip from Charlies election run. He was in a throng of supporters and reporters with Jeb Bush standing about 3/4 of the way apart when one of the reporters pushed in from Jebs side with "Mr. Crist, Mr. Crist are you gay?"

Without missing a beat Jeb raised up, looked down at him and asked, "Why? Are you looking for a date?" I hooted and hollared and loffed and loffed then and I've been loffing and loffing looking for the clip this morning. It was probably one of the best reporter shut TF ups I've seen.
