I'll tell you when I'll take the Tea Baggers seriously
When I stop seeing people in costume and crazy signs on the news. When I see them doing what the past 3 successful GOP candidates in big races are doing I'll be scared of them. Until than, they are the right's code pink in my eyes. 2 out of the 3 last big losses had a Tea Bagger on the ballot. The GOP candidate ironically enough won talking about how independent they were and about change, wonder who they stole that plan from

I did a training on demonstrating with a progressive group about a year and a half ago. One of the key things I emphasized to other organizers were

1) Know your crazy people
2) Don't let your crazy people talk to the media
3) Screen the crazy people's signs before an event
4) Don't let your crazy people get creative (i.e. costume or performance art)

The media will latch onto your crazy people, and rinse and repeat, over and over and over again.

They stole no plans from O. Their plans are mostly the opposite of his.

If the OP thinks they stole the words "hope" and "change" from O, I hate to disappoint him but those words have been around forever.

There were a few on Tax Day and July 4th, that's the only time I saw any.

I've been to several tea parties and people were wearing some weird costumes. Some people call it a coat and tie or business attire, I think.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Usually they don't wear anything *shudder*

Now how can anyone not want to see this costume?

To a DUche this would be considered crazy, to me it's creative/funny.

Has he ever seen ANY anti-war protest?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
