On February 3, 2005, I opened the door to DU...
And here I found my electronic home...

I was very new at computers, and the internet was a vast space of amazing websites! I don't even remember just how I found DU, just that I wandered from link to link till it showed up...

I came in......and I stayed.

So, help me celebrate my anniversary!

Tell me your stories, how you found DU, what made you stay!

at least it isn't another turtleneck picture.

2. Aw, thanks, my dear Swede...
 Being here leaves everyone changed...

And the site, too...

I wanted to cry. (I probably did cry.) I worked very hard for Howard Dean, wanted him to be our next President. But then John Kerry ran, and so I half heartedly voted for him, because he was on our ticket. I hated what the swift boaters did to him.. and I hated what the Republicans had become.

I was tired of the arrogant .."We won, get over it, we are in power now, get over it!" "All you Democrats do is whine, bitch and cry..get over it! Muahaha! Democrats suck!"

I don't know how I found DU. I had been on Democrats.com but left there because of some bad arguments, and I found this place and read postings for a long time before I actually joined.

CP posts another poem...

It's ironic, but her identical twin brother is a great person who has accomplished tremendous things in his career.

CP wasn't born a girl. right?

Most likely she was but God messed up with her genetics and now poor CP had to find humans to fix Gods mistakes.

Strange and unknown world out there.

So her anniversary is the same as the deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and "The Big Bopper". http://www.ktla.com/health/sns-ap-history-2010feb03,0,6599505.story
A people... who are possessed of the spirit of commerce, who see and who will pursue their advantages may achieve almost anything.

GEORGE WASHINGTON, letter to Benjamin Harrison

"Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%."

oh my dear.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.
-------------------------------------------------

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
