Why is the gov't advertising flu shots????
« on: January 31, 2010, 09:31:34 PM »
Noticed this in the last week. Gov't advertising flu shots - using guilt, IMHO - stating it's the responsible thing to do.

Seems a few months late... So what's really going on?

Because flu shots are easier than mind-control rays. :tinfoil2:

Seriously, I have no idea.

I have not seen any government suggestions lately about flu shots.  I still see lots of health care clinics & schools offering free or inexpensive H1N1 vaccines.

They are advertising flu prevention on the radio here and includes getting both flu shots still.  It seems to me if the swine flu was as bad as they say it was, more people would have gotten sick by now.

There is normally a second round of flu infection in the early spring. Therefore it isn't too suprising they are pushing flu shots again, for those who did not receive them in the fall.

No. It's the Jooooos.  You do have a point, though.  As it warms up more people are out and about spreading their diseases.

I received this via e-mail last week:

Quote
I am arranging one of our nurses to come out to Administration on Thursday, February 11th at noon to give H1N1 shots to anyone that would be interested. You will be required to fill out a consent form, and the vaccine will be provided at no cost. Please let me know if you would be interested so I know how many doses to line up.

For most people, H1N1 was less sickening than regular flu. Worse for certain demographics. The fact is, it was a manufactured crisis to expand government power and control.

I had it and it sucked, but as a generally healthy person, it was far from life-threatening.  My doctor made me stay home for a week and a half though, and my dad's work wanted him to stay home until his cough went away  :whatever:  He finally had to get his doctor say that he was no longer contagious so that they would let him back in the office.

My point is they pretty much ram vaccines down the throat of the entire medical profession quite consistently.   As such, a reminder in January about flu shots (January being typical flu season in the northeast) from the government is rather common.

A vaccine has a certain shelf life. If it doesn't get used, it gets thrown out.

The company(ies) that made the vaccine are looking to have as many doses as possible sold/farmed out/given away. That creates demand.

Seems like simple economics to me.  :shucks:

It's not the CDC pushing - it's DHS.

It's really simple, if you don't line up for your H1N1 shot then you won't get your tracking implant on schedule.  :tinfoil2:

or just as perplexing--running tv ads on the census. cause i'm sure a tv ad is gonna convince people to fill out their census form, even moreso than the legal consequences to not doing so. the one thing i'm wondering is how many of millions of dollars the ad cost to make by our fiscally conservative government.

Because they expire, and WE spent a lot of $$ on them.  Especially the H1N1, with all the restrictions, not everyone got one, who wanted it, and now, they/we are losing money.

Seriously? The gov't has NEVER cared about spent money. EVER. I don't know that would be a reason.

It came off kind of strong, but I meant it as a question - sorry if it was worded poorly. If it were private business, i'd agree iwth you.  :-)
