Susan Collins, R-ME: "Obama Admin can't see foreign terrorist when he stands right in front of them"

U.S. President Barack Obama has a "blind spot" when it comes to the "war on terrorism," a Republican Party spokeswoman said Saturday.

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, speaking during the GOP's weekly radio and Internet address, criticized the Obama administration for treating terror suspect Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab as "an ordinary criminal" rather than as an enemy combatant, thus showing "a blind spot when it comes to the war on terrorism."

"Because of that blindness, this administration cannot see a foreign terrorist even when he stands right in front of them, fresh from an attempt to blow a plane out of the sky on Christmas Day," she said.

"There's no other way to explain the irresponsible, indeed dangerous, decision on Abdulmutallab's interrogation. There's no other way to explain the inconceivable treatment of him as if he were a common criminal."

Collins, a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, blasted what she had was a decision by Abdulmutallab's interrogators to read him his Miranda rights shortly after being arrested for allegedly trying to ignite a bomb aboard a Christmas Day Northwest Airlines flight. She said Abdulmutallab, who had been talking to investigators for 50 minutes up until that point, wouldn't talk afterward.

1. Geez, there were witnesses and physical evidence

There can't be a reasonable fear that he won't be convicted.

4. She is the only politician in America as stupid as George W. Bush.

She is so painfully stupid it's difficult to hear her talk.

Oh, I dunno.

It seems to me the more common perception is that it's a neck-and-neck race for stupidest U.S. Senator, between Babs Boxer of California and Patty Murray of Washington.

5. I find Collins' statements really offensive

I know she's an incompetent idiot, and annoying as hell, but I find all of this a bit unseemly. Yes, mistakes were made, but to make such craven political hay out of it? Hey Susan, does the name Richard Reid ring a bell? For shame.

6. Hmmmmm how in the hell do republicans know what terrorist look like

guess they are so used to them, especially in their own party they have first hand knowledge. And little old Susan Collins, world traveler I suppose to all the terrorist capitals of the world. tsk tsk tsk those republicans they know how to sling it, but to really tell the truth about it, that's what they can't do.

13. Roger Ailes said on This Week this morning that "we know what they look like. They aren't Norwegians." But what would you expect from him?

7. why is she attacking the president at a time of war?

I thought Republicans didn't do that?

Can we lock up Collins without a lawyer? Sounds like she's a traitor.

11. I thought they said he was "singing like a bird" and giving them all kinds of info.

Maybe they were hoping for waterboarding so they could get Cheney and George off the hook.

I think they get their jollies out of watching people being tortured, but I'm really surprised about Collins. I gave her more credit than that.

12. And this is one of the 'moderates' Obama is trying to reach out to.

I understand why he has to do it, has to at least try.

But this underscores the fact that this whole bipartisanship thing is a one way street. Hopefully, the Presidents strategy regarding this will work.

Unfortunately, neighbor, I think that it's pretty much a given that that will happen.

And Senator Collins is right on the target to point out the deficiencies in the Oministration's handling of terrorism.  She's right on the ****ing mark, yet she's holding back.  I double-dog dare any lurking DUmb****s to register, and start a conversation about this.  Your first task--tell us where Senator Collins is wrong.  (Now for the part that they won't be able to follow.)  Use specific examples, not some touchy-feely "I think this," because it's plain that you idiots and oxygen wasters don't think.

Unlike Senator Collins.

(Just as Coach feels that he should stick up for Skinner when the primitives attack him, due to being alums of the same university, I've got to do the same for Senator Collins.  She was there some time before me, but we're from the same university.)

Are any Republicans accusing him of waging war for oil? Accusing him of war crimes? Declaring the war illegal? Saying civilians are intentionally being targeted? Lying about troops commiting atrocities? Making the terrorists out to be noble Freedom Fightersâ„¢ while calling the President a murderer?

That's what we were talking about you stupid POS.

I think you're right, but only because Plugs Biden is now a heartbeat from the presidency. And neither Boxer nor Murray can approach the unparalleled stupidity of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX).

It wasn't an issue about his conviction for the attempted bombing, it was about his giving info on other terrorists, DUmbass.

Dissent is only patriotic when a donk attacks a republican.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
