"Ice Storm 2010!" is in full force. I think most folks here are ready for it. Snuck into the gym early before the roads started freezing to get in a lift session. The boss closed the store today (and probably tomorrow with a reopening on Sat.). Other than that, just working on schoolwork, reading and watching Term. Salvation later and might hoist a couple.

What's up around your way?

It's cold up here in the Sandhills of Nebraska, circa 10 degrees, but no wind and nothing coming down from the skies.

I'm going to kick the cats outdoors for a while, as I'm going to make some beef stew on top of the gas range, and I want them out of harm's way.

I suppose I could go to the big city today, to pick up some money, but I think I'll go tomorrow instead.  Not that the roads are bad--in fact, the roads are rather okay--but I'm lethargic today.

We had a couple inches of snow overnight, and it's only supposed to hit 20 degrees today.  On the plus side, it's sunny and painfully bright outside.

Have a report to do by 2 something and trying to decide between stuffed pork chops or making up a chicken thing using some leftover cheese queso I made....

It's sunny out and suppoesd to get up to 51....we're on a severe weather watch for late afternoon tomorrow....basically 3 days of the grocery stores getting a lot of business... :whatever:

Hey Chris...aren't you supposed to move this weekend? Are you all getting rain and ice? or have they added snow into the "wintery mix"?

Frank....heard was 9 out in Kearney this morning. You all have had such a wicked winter..... :(

It is sunny here today, it is suppose to get up to the high 60's.  My older daughter gets out of school early today and she wants to go to the mall.  I HATE the mall.

I woke up with an enlarge lymph node this morning in my neck (right side).  You can actually see it sticking out of my neck.  WTH?  I feel normal so I don't know why it's so enlarged.

My computer is screwed.  My husband tried a program he bought at the apple store to retrieve files and it wouldn't work.  It's a mac and is had been getting progressively slower over the past 6 months or so.  It got to the point that when I clicked on a link that spinning thing would spin for at least a minute before it would bring up a link or it would lock up.  I thought mac's weren't supposed to screw up?  LIE   The only file I am really concerned that we lost is my daughters report on the solar system.  My husband tried to do something to my computer the night she finished it and that was when it totally screwed up.  She is so upset, it's due monday.  Guess that will learn us to back up our crap more often.

I'm not moving until March or April... I'm just looking at apartments over the weekend.  I figure by the time I have a new lease somewhere else, I'll have everything packed and can pay somebody to move all my things for me.

The management left me a note yesterday about a spare wheel I have sitting behind my building.  Never mind that there's nothing behind my apartment except a 9-foot concrete retaining wall (the view from my living room is superb) and they still haven't repainted the door jambs from the burglary that happened nearly two years ago.  If I'm going to live in a lousy apartment in a high crime area, I might as well save some money.

Rainy today, chance of a little freezing rain, but not much.  Weekend to be sunny, which I am thankful for, as I am headed to Ft. Hood this weekend, and loathe driving on the highway in the rain.

Ran some errands this morning, got my hair cut and went out for lunch with Mr Flame before he had to go to work.

Planning on just relaxing the rest of the day...might take a nap.

Snowy and windy up here today.  What a day I've had!  Covered 2 jobs, and ignored my own.  I'm beat.  A few cold ones in my immediate future.

Frank, I thought you couldn't stand gas stoves?  You don't have to kick the cats out, nothing's going to happen.  It's not like one of your short stories.

I rent.

I didn't have any say in the appliances here.

I. HATE. NIGHTS.

Got about 4 hours of sleep this afternoon, mild dusting on the ground, just enough to make sure all the roads were nice and slippery coming in.  4WD does not help much there.  At least we're looking at tomorrow off, provided the DG is operable and all our walkdowns are done tonight.  (Mine are--yay!)

Probably going to have to hit the grocery store sometime very soon.  The fridge is looking quite barren, and I've got maybe enough meat to get me through a couple of weeks, tops.  Maybe I'll just get enough stuff to get me through next week (fruit, milk, etc.), and then do a major shopping trip when I get back from Lost Wages.

I am going to bitch. Earlier I posted that I woke up with a swollen lymph node (right side right under my jaw).  It is HUGE and pulsating.  Now I'm starting to feel weird.  My throat hurts but the pain is vague if that makes sense.  I feel exhausted all of a sudden too.  Man I don't want to get sick.  :(

Before I had my shunt replaced, I had to go to the emergency room because I was having visual hallucinations and massive amounts of pain from the swelling and pressure on my brain.  After explaining my medical history to the doctor, I had them do a CT scan; I was able to bring the scans to my neurosurgeon so he could make a diagnosis (the shunt failed the day before I made it to surgery).  He also gave me a shot of Demerol and a bottle of Mepergan to control the pain.

The emergency room's not entirely useless if things get really bad before your doctor's office is open.

I don't think it is that serious. Waiting in the ER sounds worse than the way I'm feeling right now.
