He could have been the 41st vote but instead he wanted to be the 60th.

I kept hearing libs calling into talk shows yesterday saying they were glad because now Lieberman and Lincoln, et al. could quit holding the liberals in the senate hostage and I forgot all about this guy.  Remembering today is like finding an extra present to unwrap a day or two after Christmas.

had a conversation like that two nights ago. She kept interrupting and said she never interrupted. I just laughed.

I managed to listen to it last night.

For somebody who professes to be a senator, with all the alleged diplomacy that goes with that, he let himself forget all about that.

It was either O'Reilly or Hannity - maybe both - asked Ms Bachmann if Spector had called her and apologized for his rudeness.

She said no.

This will come back and royally bite Spector in his sanctimonious ass. The women he represents are not going to take well to these comments.

It's one thing for a woman to insult another woman....it's another for a man to "talk down" to a woman and publicly insult her by telling her "to act like a lady".

In this case....I think it's reflective of Spector's opinion of women....not Bachmann herself.

It doesn't really matter......in the polls, he is running 30 points behind a generic dogcatcher from Pittsburgh.......he's toast in November, and he knows it......not only was he a crappy Republican, but switching sides has proved to his voters that he  has no loyalty to anything but himself........short of a miracle, he's gone......and good riddance.

It's really amusing now (much more so than it was when he first jumped ship) that it turns out that the absolute worst thing Specter could have done - jump ships - appeared to be the smartest thing he could have done back in early 2009.

This is one of the clearest object lessons I've ever seen of the old adage about jumping out of the frying pan, and into the fire.
