Sarah Palin to campaign for John McCain in Arizona

Quote
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican John McCain helped turn Sarah Palin into a household name during last year's presidential campaign. Now she is returning the favor.

Palin, the former Alaska governor who was McCain's vice presidential running mate last year, will campaign for McCain's re-election bid as a senator from Arizona in March, the senator said in a statement on Wednesday.

I kinda wish she wouldn't do this -- they need new blood in Arizona, I think . . .

I wish she wouldn't either, but I can understand why she feels obligated to do so.  McCain did defend her somewhat post election, when his campaign staff was trying to make her the fall guy.

Yes, he has been standing his ground during interviews over the campaign stories in Game Change which has been very heartening.  Steve Schmidt, on the other hand, needs to go the way of Scott McClellan and disappear off the face of the earth!

I would hope she has more sense than that.  She got away with 1 RINO ride with only getting pissed on; does she need to try for complete political 'untouchable' status or something?

I wish she would not campaign for him either; I want someone that is more conservative to take his place. However, I understand her loyalty toward him. If he had not picked her as VP, she would be an unknown, AK Governor struggling to pay her legal bills. She probably feels like she owes him her support. An admiral quality on her part.

OK, I've missed it. When has McCain stood up for Palin? If it was since Game Change, that's a frickin' year late! AFAIK, she's showing him a lot more loyalty and class than he could recognize.

She has this rare thing, among politicians, called "honor."  Something that McCain (but not his campaign staff) can identify with, coming from the Naval Academy.

Pffft. J.D. Hayworth has announced his intention to run against McCain.  Hell, I'd run if I lived here long enough.

I've lived there long enough - but I don't any more.  Maybe I could pull a Hillary Clinton, and carpetbag my way back in.

BTW, who's running for Shadegg's old seat in the house?

I see it that way too, this is a duty/honor issue, not necessarily the guy she'd like to see elected in a 'Best of all possible worlds' scenario.  I can't hold it against her, I value loyalty very highly.
