deminks (1000+ posts) Tue Jan-19-10 07:34 PMOriginal messageWow, even Bayh D (R) Ind has given the race to Brown Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 07:36 PM by deminksBayh: Dems Are In Denial About Massachusetts Senate Racehttp://tpmlivewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/01/bayh-d... Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) told ABC News that the Democratic Party cannot ignore the lessons of the Massachusetts special Senate election unless it wants to be lead to "even further catastrophe."The race to fill the late Ted Kennedy's Senate seat has become hotly contested in recent weeks, even though the Democratic candidate, Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, enjoyed double digit polling leads up until the middle of December. Republican candidate Scott Brown has called the race a referendum on health care reform and has promised to be the 41st vote to block cloture on the landmark legislation if he's voted into office. The lesson, according to Bayh, is that the Democrats have pushed their agenda too far to the left and have, in the process alienated independent voters."It's why moderates and independents even in a state as Democratic as Massachusetts just aren't buying our message," Bayh told ABC. "They just don't believe the answers we are currently proposing are solving their problems."(end snip)Asswipe. Obama hasn't pushed too far left. Methinks the DLC and its parent Chamber of Commerce have some new strange bedfellows.

6. Evan, the DLC half-wit, is getting exactly what he wants with this election If Coakley loses, he and his ilk will be laughing behind closed doors, giving high-fives, and smoking fine cigars. This is what they want so they can play it as some sort of mythical "LEFTIST MESSAGES ARE KILLING THIS COUNTRY!" and the media will fall right in line with it.Just more realignment of the political spectrum by the DLC'ers, who are still firmly entrenched and in control of our party. Pretty soon, what passes as a Republican today will be tomorrows leftist-Democrat.

marmar (1000+ posts) Tue Jan-19-10 07:41 PMResponse to Original message9. Evan Bayh can probably relate to Brown better, being the useless DLC trash that he is. nt
Sebastian Doyle (1000+ posts) Tue Jan-19-10 07:44 PMResponse to Original message15. Standard DLC script: Blame everything on the "left" Even when you have a corporate funded DLC candidate running for a seat held by a Liberal (and before that, his brother) for over 50 years, and the candidate is defending Mitt Romney corporatist "solutions", somehow they blame the ACTUAL Democrats.**** you Evan. **** you Joe. **** you Rahm. **** you Bruce Reed (and your son Chad too). **** the DLC and their lame excuses. Regardless of what happens tonight, you sons (and daughters) of bitches are the ones destroying the Democratic party.
Bombay Martinis for Jukin tonight.

Looks like Bayh has decided that the crazy and the sane may have to go different ways in the Big Tent Party. I always thought he was a pretty rational guy, for a Democrat, looks like he still is.
