A HUSBAND may finally be reunited with his wife today, 23 days after she left to buy their Christmas dinner.
John Ure, who has been icebound at the lighthouse keeper's cottage at Cape Wrath, is expected to try to reach his wife Kay, who is living on the other side of a sea loch in a friend's caravan after becoming stranded by snow after a shopping trip to

Inverness before Christmas.

Mr Ure, 54, who has six springer spaniels for company and is currently living off cans of baked beans and pasta, said he plans to leave today.
...
He was hopeful...  but sadly it was not to be.

Mr Ure abandoned another attempt to be reunited with his wife – 23 days after she left their Cape Wrath home in Scotland to buy Christmas dinner.
The snow and ice is still trapping John Ure

‘The ice has frozen up to my door.

By the time Kay turns up with our dinner it will be a month after she set off,’ said the 57-year-old.

He may have to. That may be all the dogs have had to eat also. Not sure about his dogs, but my big slobbery hound can peel the paint off the walls.
