Who Wouldn't Like $500k to Help Out a Friend?
« on: January 09, 2010, 10:17:01 AM »
SYNOPSIS: Obama's Budget Director, Peter Orzag funneled $500k worth of no-bid contracts to a long time friend, MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber then fed Gruber's admin-friendly reports on ObamaCare to the press...but neglected (totally by accident I'm sure) to mention the paid relationship.

The contract was so he could produce a report that would normally have been produced by career gov't offices then the admin claimed, "see the independent experts agree with the gov't's own agencies"...except they didn't agree. Gruber said there would be savings, the gov't offices said "not so much." So Gruber's reports were used to mask unfriendly feedback.

I so need a friend like him to fill my empty pockets
Good girls are bad girls that never get caught.

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it, misdiagnosing it and then misapplying the wrong remedies.

I was thinking that I too needed to hang out with a higher class of low-life.

Yup, and then he went and wrote a propaganda piece that the New York Times published as an objective view by a disinterested expert.

Y'know, this is reaching the point at which the Founders, back in the day, started planning the original Tea Party - y'know, that little tet-a-tet in Boston Harbour - at what point will the sheep look up this time?

It would be nice if we could waterboard all of our crooked politicians.

The earth's surface is 3/4 water.

We'd need more water.
