It takes a great deal of effort to make a marriage work these days....and a very special combination of two personalities....not many are lucky enough to get both.

Congrats on 23 marvelous yrs....In this day and age, that is a miracle within itself....We celebrated 50 this past June, and it has not been a walk in the park, lots of bumps along the way, most of them, my fault because my husband is a dear, and I love him alot...It has been an interesting journey....

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.  I too love to hear about marriages that are long and the couple still actually like each other and love to spend time with their spouse.  I would rather spend time with my husband than anyone on the face of the earth.

I have such admiration for couples who hold it together, and happily, for life.  I can't do it for more than a few weeks*, so I have a good amount of awe as well.  Congratulations to you both.

*My folks have been married 45 years, so no it wasn't my upbringing that made me a commitmentphobe!.

Marriage is not for everyone honey....But maybe you just havn't met the right one yet, and I bet if you ever do, it will be a lifelong committment...If not, live it as you see it......

Congrats BEG.  From your pictures I would've guessed you got married at 10.  Myself going on 27 yrs in 2010.  My wife would tell you it only seems like 5.   :-)  But she's still got all her hair and it's still dark.  Mine's silver, what's left of it, so it sounds like she's had the easier time to me.
