DUmmies Discuss Lousy Healthcare - bobbolink Still Homeless

DUmmy Contrary1 spins a routine bouncy on the horrible American healthcare system:

My mother's trip to the ER with chest pains...
As soon as they got her settled on a gurney, they hooked her up to an EKG, took her blood pressure and her temperature. Eight hours later, while still on the same gurney in the same cubicle, they pronounced that they could find nothing wrong with her.

I was told to go get my car because they were releasing her. I asked if they could admit her to run other tests. No.
So I decided to throw one hell of a fit. I informed them that I would not be getting my car, that they would not be releasing her, that they would find one of their "scarce beds", so that she could at least sleep. I also told them I would be staying the night, in case they got any ideas on trying to get her back home without me.

Four days later, there was finally a diagnosis. An aortic aneurysm.

"I don't think there's one thing wrong with the United States health system." What a load of crap.
Of course, if you throw a fit like this in a hospital, they will say one thing: "Someone please call security!"

Another in a long list of DUmmies claiming to be doctors:

2. Women get blown off as hypochondriacs or anxious. A man with chest pain
would be in the ICU even if he had no insurance. I am a doctor but also a woman. I was told by docs at the local ER that my necrotic gallbladder was "anxiety." My sleep apnea was "anxiety and depression". This is a universal problem. Women's medical complaints are not taken seriously. When I send women to specialists I often have to fight extra hard to get them the same care that men get.

The DUmp is crawling with doctors. It's like a drug company seminar in Barbados.

DUmmy bobbolink, who is homeless, lives in her car, and shits on other peoples' sidewalks in Denver:

10. Now you know what people who are alone face.
 We are NEVER heard.

We are NOT taken seriously.

We are ignored.

If we're lucky, we die from it.

If not, we just suffer in hell.

Don't forget, bobbolink is homeless, and Pam is on chemo.

And another comment from the homeless, on another current thread on the lousy American healthcare system:

1. Very important--thank you very much! We are ignored, and need YOUR advocacy, if we are to survive.
As I said in another post, what I'm becoming aware of is that a growing segment of the homeless population are those of us who are chemically sensitive. Human bodies aren't made to withstand the assalts of chemicals that we are exposed to, and we are the canaries in the mine fields.

Yet, we are ignored, and left to suffer in our cars, in sub-zero weather, and then heat.

Nobody wants to hear us.... we aren't the "pets"... the preferred groups.

We aren't Vets.

We aren't "the working poor".

We don't have small children.

WE ARE THE LEFTOVERS....THE IGNORED.

WHO IS GOING TO HEAR US?

DUmmy bobbolink is homeless, but no one cares.

DUmmy bobbolink is homeless, but no one cares.

If she lived around here, in this weather(below freezing) all she need do is go to our local CATHOLIC Hospital, claim she's ill, and she spends the night in the emergency room.

Why don't homeless people hitchhike to Fla. for the winter?

They do....the bushes down there are full of them this time of year.

That's easy enough to fix.  All it has to do is sleep in its car without the heat on.  I'm sure the Denver weather would take care of the rest.  Surely bobbo doesn't mean that.

After 4 years of Obama we are all gonna need pain pills.

Who the hell does Obama think he is to decide how doctors treat patients anyway? Doctors wasted all that time going to med school obviously since lord O knows so much more than they do.

If the DUmmy thinks Obama is going to do any better than the ER doc that sent his mom home, why not go straight to the source for the answer?

Hey mom... take a pill and STFU.  Sincerely, Barack H. Obama.

Must just be here but the couple of times either of the folks had a medical issue they always opted for the better be safe then sorry option and kept them at least overnight.

Every time I have gone to the ER I have been admitted. I don't know if you were here the last time I went to the ER but I was admitted and stayed for 5 or 6 days and in the end they found nothing wrong. They did every test under the sun too. I was having what I thought were TIA episodes (only two) and I called my doctor. He told me to go to the ER, I didn't want to go. My husband and mom made me go. My doctor said he was going to call the hospital and tell them I was coming but when I got there they knew nothing about it. After waiting for forever I was finally taken back to an ER room. Although while waiting I was called back for a blood test and made to put on a hospital gown (I left on my jeans) and had to go back out into the waiting room while I waited for a bed.

After they took my history they told me I wouldn't be going home. I stayed the night in the ER room (which sucked) then they put me in a regular hospital room. They did all kinds of tests including the one where they put the camera down your throat.  They could find no cause so they deducted that a blood clot must have gotten stuck in a stint in my vertebral artery from the discription of my symptoms.  Believe me, they didn't just say that to dismiss me, they did every test they could to find the cause.

At no time have I ever been treated differently because I am a woman or dismissed at the ER. Including the time I had no insurance and had a stroke.

I was dismissed ONCE by a doctor. I had already been diagnosed with my auto immune disease and had my stroke. I had to switch rheumatologists because of an insurance change. He was a total asshole. I was having symptoms again, he had my complete file so he knew that everything I was telling him was the truth. He told me that I was anorexic (weight loss is a symptom of my disease) and that my disease wasn't back. Unlike a stupid DUer I took my health into my own hands, called my neurologist who told me to see him the next day. A few days later I was in the hospital getting  stints (three) in my carotid, subclavian and vertebral arteries. They were all between 70-80% occulded. If I had listened to that idiotic doctor I would be dead today. I don't think it had anything to do with the fact I am a woman, the doctor was just an idiot. It could also have something to do with the fact that he was an HMO and had to keep costs down so that was why he wouldn't order any tests.

DUers think healthcare sucks now...just you wait idiots. Welcome to Obamacare.

Oops edit to change the percentage of one of the arteries... Not that any of you care.  :p  My carotid artery was 90% occluded at the time.  This was all on the right side, the left side are all 100% occulded and that is why I had the stroke.

I am sorry to hear of your travails, although I am very impressed with your ability to take control of yourself and your situation!  I think that you are, unfortunately, exactly on point with the remarks about Obamacare - for most people, other than the larger withholdings from paychecks (which most people simply don't notice at all since they only focus on the take-home number), and the dismal activity of the economy (which I'm sure will just be blamed on Bush), most people won't notice the degredation of the American healthcare system because, to put it simply, most of us never need anything other than the annual physical, the annual dental checkup, and the annual eye-exam for at least the first half of our adult lives.

However, God forbid that we should find ourselves in your position - and no-one can say whether or not your condition, or something much worse, like a ferociously aggressive cancer, is in our future - because it is people such as yourself, and those who find themselves in your position, who will in a very literal sense be the lambs sacrificed on the altar of Obama-worship and socialism.

Where do these people live ?  In a third world country ?

I had severe chest pains in July.  I went to a new Dr. and he sent me to the hospital immediately.  He called ahead to tell them I was on my way. That was my first visit with that Dr.

When I got to the hospital they took me right away.  My husband answered the questions to get me admitted.  I was wheeled into a room and seen by the Dr. on call.

2 chest xrays, a cat scan, a shot and blood tests. I was released 4 hours later.

I saw no one turned away or pushed to the side waiting for care. If I had no money I could have gone to the teaching hospital where my son goes.  He was treated for pneumonia in Nov.  No money, no insurance, they took him right away.

I finally cancelled my insurance this yr, money was tight for awhile and we have health problems so we were paying out around $32,000 a yr, plus the cost of scripts and $3,000 a piece deductibles. I got pnuemonia back in early Nov. They put me in the hospital immed. I ended up there 6 days, came home for 5 back for 5 more days in. They never knew for sure I was going to pay them. I did so in cash, and no one gave me any grief. I always find all these stories so bizarre. I am a regular at the hospital, at least once a yr, and they have always been great.
There is no virtue in compulsory government charity, and there is no virtue in advocating it. A politician who portrays himself as caring and sensitive because he wants to expand the government's charitable programs is merely saying that he is willing to do good with other people's money. Well, who isn't? And a voter who takes pride in supporting such programs is telling us that he will do good with his own money— if a gun is held to his head.

bobo is an absolute dummy treat.

doesn't work.  not because she can't, but as she has stated, she chooses not to (just like our other favorite up!)

doesn't live in publicly provided housing.  not because it wasn't provided to her (it was,) but (again) she stated she will not live under any sort of rules.

bobo requires that society provides bobo with her own house, food, medical care and (above all!) respect.  no questions asked, nothing else will do.

i get bobo.  in my vision of the weird, odd, "if democrats controlled the world" way they think about things, bobo make perfect sense.  *you* don't deserve *your* money, bobo deserves your money.  you bust your hump, so bobo is taken care of.  and as you give the majority of your hard earned cash to bobo, do not expect anything of her.  how dare you.

but she is funny.

bobo exists only to spew hateful posts on other dummys (have you ever seen a happy bobo post?)  to shame them, belittle them, to hurt them.  whatever the dummy position is, bobo has a problem with it.  and we all know how dummys react to a bum like bobo shitting on them.  they apologize.  they feel less human.  they are sorry and cry.

so bless bobo the hobo.  one of my favorite posters.  she gets to openly dump on dummys everyday and no one there will ever put a stop to that.

dump on, bobo.  give 'em hell...

Yep. She is the proverbial, and perpetual, turd in the punch bowl. No matter how upbeat a thread, she will come along and drag it and the rest of the dummies to the gutter, or at least further down into the gutter. Bobbolink is THE lowest common denominator. She's just awesome that way.

8. We're thowaways, plain and simple.
I'm becoming aware that a rapidly growing segment of the homeless population are those with chemical sensitivities who have become very ill.

We are the canaries in the coal mine, signaling what many others will experience.

YET, we are uncared for, forgotten, and tossed off.

12. Absolutely, but its not important because we aren't in the "pet" groups.
All they want to do is meddle, and assign us "caseworkers" to assess how we are at fault.

But, that's OK, because this will spread as more and more people get sick from a polluted environment, and then THEY will also suffer, until EVERYONE knows someone or who has a family member who is suffering in this way, ignored and poor and homeless.

THEN.....?

chemical sensitivities ?  To what ?  A workplace or other people ?
bobo is homeless because bobo answers to no one and wants to be homeless. Unless I see a picture of her homeless self, I'm calling  :bs: on her.

Bobbolink will not live by society's rules she just demands society take care of her.

That is the leftist version of Going Galt.
