Democrats Join Calls for Napolitano to Step Down Following Failed Attack

Democrats have joined the ranks of those calling for Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to step down following the attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight a week ago.

Some Democrats have joined in calling for Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to step down following the attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight a week ago.

Though the CIA and an agency under the Director of National Intelligence have been under particular scrutiny in the preliminary review of possible missteps, Napolitano so far has taken the most heat from lawmakers. Not only does her department oversee the Transportation Security Administration, but her initial claim Sunday that "the system worked" was widely ridiculed and interpreted by critics as a sign that she's in over her head.

The word is Napolitano is in a holding pattern waiting for a Supreme Court Justice to quit or keel over.

I wonder if this season of discontent will hamper her landing?

Not yet; not until, at the least, she resigns in disgrace.

I am not so certain that we would get such a great new years present as JN stepping down.  I will keep dreaming though.  More pointedly I would be just as afraid of who is re appointed.

Ward Churchill is looking for a job these days...ad he claims to have plenty of experience in dealing with terrorist groups.

Bill Ayers can be his chief of staff.

With this SOB in the Whitehouse, you are absolutely correct.  Hopefully this is not another case of "be careful what you wish for, you may get it."

I agree with the SOB part but disagree with the other part. Obummer and the Democrats are or should be scared shitless of another terrorist attack. They would lose their excuse of blaming Bush for everything since he kept us safe for 7 1/2 years. Her replacement will be someone like W. Clark. Either way, I do not think it is possible to find anyone as stupid as her.

There's a report out there that he was briefed on the kind of attack that happened on Christmas day a few days prior to it happening.

So I'm waiting for the media to ask "What did this President know and WHEN did he know it!"

Yeah yeah I know...

He will be asked that question when the egg sucking media discovers that global warming is a farce. However, it would be interesting to watch him stammer and stutter.

If Napolitano steps down, how many "failed" appointees will this make?  Do we have a current count?

Whatever the count is to date, BO must hold the "record"! :loser2:

If this keeps up, I think dismantling his over exaggerated ego will be easier then we think... :naughty:

Maybe, but the underlying problem is that they consider us to be the real terrorists, not those bomb-toting extremists in places like Yemen, they're just "misunderstood minorities."

I agree with this assessment 100%.  Obama feels as if he owes the Muslim world something.  He feels as if he owes Europe something.  Yet as to his own country, he feels the need to point out every conservative, every white man and everyone middle class and above as part of the problem within America.  The only people that seem to be productive in his mind are drunks, drug addicts, bums, people that are self acclaimed held back or down and the bleeding hearts of the suffering communists.

As to the poster who is asking how many failed appointees he has, I have no idea, Ive lost count.

Also the only possible place you may see a story on "when the president knew of the attack" would be Glenn Beck or Rush when he gets out of the hospital.  Once it hits one of those two outlets its then branded as a conspiracy theory and therefore in the minds of the left holds no merit whatsoever.  Go figure.

The guy did everything but, hold up a huge sign saying, "I've got a bomb" If this was the system working I hate to think what a failure would look like.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

That is what a failure looks like in this context.
