5. It wasn't fun to me before we became Panic Nation.....

I did the Times Square NYE thing in 1996-97 when I lived in the NYC area. Between not being able to see anything in the sardine-packed crowd, to the belligerent drunks, to the beer-and-vomit scented Metro-North ride back up to New Rochelle, it wasn't a whole lot of fun.

6. The massive unruly crowds are responsible. Hardly a police state.

Sorry, but it's true.

I'm not sure if that's possible . . .

Chase her.
Chase her even when she's yours.
That's the only way you'll be assured to never lose her.

:rotf: :rotf:---Oh Frank, my youngest is female 5 feet tall and weighs in at 90 pounds.

She had a dream of being in times square for New Years for most of her life.  I believe it was the year she turned 21 that she was finally able to go with a boyfriend to his family in the Bronx's

She was like a jack in the box jumping up and so excited, she began to plan 2 months ahead, what kind of warm clothing to bring, she had maps up the ying yang on the street plans and the subway systems, their entrances and exits, the schedules you name it she was all set and ready to go.

She went off , biggest smile I have ever seen and came home 3 days later a total mess.

She did not have a good time, her complaints were so many and crazy I had to stand back.

People were vomiting on her, there were few Porto potties men and woman were squatting in the street or against the sides of buildings.  She said the smell would run off anything with a nose.

She because of her size was swept up and slammed about as people surged into her.  People had small kids out in the cold and the kids yelled their lungs out, someone would fall down and people just walked over them.

The police she said unless there was blood stood back, they just watched as people were robbed at knife point.  Controlled hysteria as she described it.

The worse was getting back to the Bronx, after the new Year show and a million people wanting to be home, the people really got techie.     How they both made it out of there without some life changes is anyones guess.

She is not a bold person, more like a mouse, when I mention her adventure to her she just rolls her eyes and shakes her head.

For us who do not live every day with masses of humanity, who have never experienced the people by the hundreds of thousands all with their own agenda, this can be very unnerving.
