Insane in the Membrane Monday
« on: December 28, 2009, 08:17:35 AM »
Pretty much what I expected happened overnight--all the rain and warm temperatures created a lot of standing water, but with all the snow still on the ground, prevented a lot of drainage.  Then, when the temps dropped back into the mid-20's last night, viola!--instant ice roads!  At least the town and state folks did a decent job salting everything down and keeping it from getting too bad.

HOWEVER...

Mid-30's today with snow rolling in this afternoon/evening, so here we go with the nice coating of ice again, and temps are not forecast to rise above freezing for the next two weeks, and it's going to get back down to 0 degrees tomorrow night, with windchills of -20!!!  Hooray!!!

Thank goodness this is only a four-day workweek...SO FAR.

Monday :p

Working tomorrow, which means another six-day workweek.  So tired.

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Kinda an easy start to the week here.  Woke up feeling rested, had a leisurely breakfast and the Mancub woke up cheerful. My wife is working out of the house today in her basement office, theres good coffee at hand and nothing to do for a couple hours. Life is, for the moment, pretty good. The older crowd here stayed up late last night watching "District 9".  Helluva film.  Have to hit the health club and pay the taxes for the house at the villiage hall today. Not so much with the fun later on. :D

Cold and windy here today.

Must venture out later to pay a bill or two, and I must take the male children to Gamestop to return a couple games that didn't work.

Got the inside of the house "de-Christmas'd" yesterday...Need to wait for a thaw before I can do the outside.

Wow, that was quick.  We usually waited until after New Year to do that.

Cold and sort of cloudy, but the snow cover makes it entirely too bright outside.

Yeah, us, too, but we put them up early this year, Mr Flame was home, and it just seemed like a good time.

Think I'll wait on taking down the Christmas decorations until next weekend.

It's sunny here in No. Ca., but rain is expected by this afternoon.

Going to take my boys to see Avatar this afternoon; heard it was a pretty good movie...

Nope. We didn't put up a tree either. We were going to be elsewhere for Christmas, and weren't going to be having guests, so no tree.  We did put up some lights outside and on the inside windows though.

In the past, we've waited until the first of the year to take down the tree.
