Having a PARTY having about 30 plus people invited :naughty:

The family and I are planning to drive to Bristol, TN, see the Speedway in Lights display they put up every year.

We got a gift card from a friend for Applebee's, and what better way to celebrate my birthday (Dec. 29th), New Years and our 7th wedding anniversary (Jan. 2nd), than with my wonderful bride....

I love the Speedway in Lights!  Driving on that bank is just wicked!

I am having a lovely git-together at my house, because I don't go anywhere on NYE.  There will be 6 of us, and my guests will all be spending the night, because they also do not drive on NYE.  So, no governor on the booze, but I will have to have coffee, as I typically fall asleep before Midnight.  Will finally have an opportunity to show off my decorations, and cook tons of food.

Are you planning a midnight breakfast?

We've done that before and it's fun!

The four of us decided if we manage to stay awake and relatively "alert"....after we leave the party we are going to...we're going to IHOP.  :-)
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

I thought about it, but we are going to have SO much food anyway.  I am doing a brunch in the am, when everyone gets up, and a buddy is bringing all the fixins for bloody marys.

I love IHOP.

That's a good idea.

I'm probably going to do a late brunch since Son's girlfriend will be here. It's going to be very simple though...I'm going to do one of those sausage/cheese stratas that I can do the day before and just bake on Friday morning. I figure if I do that...they can eat whenever they wake up....we can eat when we want.

I think I'm going to do a pork loin with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples for later in the evening...to eat in between football games.

I'm trying to make this weekend as easy as possible... :-)

IHOP is open all night...I think. If not...then Waffle House should be...

My wife's father and stepmother are coming down from NH and spending a couple nights with us (including New Year's Eve) before they head out to Florida. They'll bring lobster; I'll grill filet mignon. A good night!

New Years Day? Slow-cooked pork roast with sourkraut.

Yum.

My celebration involves old monster movies and MST3K. I have 4 new (to me) episodes to watch.
Bloodlust. Catalina Caper. The Creeping Terror. and The Skydivers. and MST3K marathon!
I own about 20 other episodes as well, including my two all time favorites:
The Beginning of the End (giant man eating grasshoppers invade Chicago), and
The Thing That Wouldn't Die (a disembodied head that mind controlls people)

Just bought MST3K #XIV for my son for Christmas (we have all but number "V" and "VIII") -- are you a Joel or Mike guy??

Catalina Caper and The Creeping Terror were both excellent!!
Piney Power!!

I like Mike better, but I love the entire series.
The Sci-Fi series had better back stories for the crew and better opportunities for parody.
