Money is the Best Gift.

That way the recipient can buy what they want. Money is the one gift that is not dangerous, that cannot be wrong, or offensive, or off key, etc. Unless, unless, it is not enough money. Giving 10 dollars today is nothing. It's a slight, an insult. Put 100 in there. That means something.

Balls. What a selfish little prick this guy is.
When I was a kid, getting five bucks from my Grandmother(who had very little) meant much more than larger gifts from more well off people.
Kid should be ashamed of himself.

Dear DUmmies,

Remember that old saw, "It's not the size of the gift, it's the thought that counts?"  How much thought goes into stuffing a bill into an envelope and going, "Here, you're not important enough to me to spend any time thinking about what you might want.  Leave me the **** alone."

I thought their mantra was "to each his needs". In a perfect Socialist society, there is no need for money.[/DUmmy mode off]
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

I'd give the little shit a card that said "David, OxFam (Or Heifer Project International, or Doctors without Borders, or something similar) thanks you sincerely for the $100 donated in your name!  Thanks to your generous gift, a struggling family farm in Ruritania will have the means to prosper and improve the economics of their home and village!"

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
