The Day after.....Christmas
« on: December 26, 2009, 07:14:45 AM »
Cold outside this morning with snow flurries predicted for the next couple of days. One last family get together left this afternoon.

The neighbors must have the Grinch living with them. Their Christmas tree was put out at the curb last night. Who takes their tree down on Christmas?

meh.  Kinda nice to see something not so sad in the Breaking News.  Cold today, headed to the Zoo.  I have free passes that have to be used up before 12/31.
R.I.P. LC and Crockspot.  Miss you guys.

I won't scare you with the details of being in shorts right now....

Our tree just hit the curb an hour or so ago. Momma was ready to clean it up since we're leaving town Friday afternoon. My youngest brother's EX-in laws took theirs down Christmas morning after the festivities. The Dad would announce "OK Christmas is over, take down that damn bush" and out it would be before noon.

Hi,

Kinda refreshing seeing this on the top page.  Fed 17 yesterday.  I bought some of those folding tables like a church would use as put them end to end so we have one big long table.  The the real food goes on the dining room table and we eat buffet style.  My message to my family was a short one, "It is not very often we get to sit and eat with 17 of our loved ones, enjoy the moment...."

Some leave today and the smallest of the grandchildren will leave the 29th....and we head to Costa Rica on the 31st....

Weather forecast for central Florida is high 60's for the rest of the week.  Little ones will make a day of it at Disney (45 minutes away), grandpa will be delivering some to the airport so I won't have to pay $100 to walk around.

Happy New Year everyone,

It has been a quiet day....just resting, reading.

Still no sign of missing kitter-cat, though we have put worn t-shirts on front porch and the screen porch and added a dish of food and water on the back porch.   :bawl:
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

I hope it doesn't take this long to get your cat back.

We were expecting snow flurries, there is now about 4 inches of flurries on the ground.

Got back from my Grandparent's house this evening.  Slightly bittersweet Christmas.  It was wonderful seeing everybody and playing with my cousin's kids, but my cousins' grandfather, who is almost like my Grandfather, is 80 years old and not doing well.  He had a stroke about 8 months ago, and has been declining ever since.  He seems to be all there mentally, and he and I had a really long conversation on Christmas Eve, but he is now in a wheelchair and he has lost a ton of weight.  He actually started crying a couple of times, talking about how wonderful it was to have everybody together, but how he didn't think he would be here next year  :bawl:
If you have a chance, say a prayer for Grandpa Joe.

Yesterday we did absolutely nothing. I had planned to hit the sales, then just took a nap. I was exhausted from all the Christmas preparations and having everyone to the house Christmas Day. No one volunteered to bring anything, so I did all the cooking (actually SR and I did----he's a greyt cook).

We never take the tree down til after New Years. I've collected so many ornaments over the years that I enjoy seeing them up and feel sad putting them away again. Besides, we're having more family over the Sunday after New Year's, so the tree will probably be up til at least Jan 9th or 10th.

Sorry to hear about the missing cat.

Do you need me to help you check under the bed?

Thanks...about Jazzy.

Looking under the beds is not an issue...they are all well up off the floor...
