Memaw X2
« on: March 06, 2008, 03:49:09 PM »
Hi ya'll.

I'm posting from my son's house.  DIL is not scheduled for a C-section until the 24th of this month but at today's doctor visit her blood pressure was up.  She's been admitted to the hospital.  She was told that if she was not diabetic they would have taken the baby today.  Right now they want to see if the baby's lungs are fully developed.  The doctor wants to do an aminosentisis.

I have babysitting duty and will for the duration so that my son does not miss too much work.  My 4yr old grandson is napping on the couch right now.  What an angel!

Please keep my DIL and little Evana "Evie" Charlotte in your prayers.

I hope everything goes well for both mother and baby.  I'll add them to my prayers.

I pray evrything will be fine.  Just a bump in the road.

BTW, my 4-year-old granddaughter lives with me.  My nickname for her is Angel.  A lot of folks think that is her name (haha).  I'm in and out on whether or not the name applies.   :innocent:

The doctor has decided to wait for the results of the 24 hour urine sample test and will make his decision on what to do from there.  They've not done the aminosentisis.  Mary had contractions all night last night but says she's fine; just wants it over with.  She was told that the baby weighs around 6 lbs now.  That's really good news.  My grandson was a premmie and weighed just 3 1/2 lbs when he was born.

It's rainy, cool and dreary here today.  The TV has been non-stop Noggin cartoons!  My grandson has been good and we've been playing with his collection of hot wheels and matchbox cars.  Right now he's taking a nap (on his own).

Well that's all the information I have been given for now.  It's a waiting game I suppose.  Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.

Most of our northern friends don't understand, Dixie.  They think you're just going to be a grandmother again.  They don't know that a MeMaw is a totally different creature.  I have a MeMaw, and I had Big Ma.  Grannies, Grandmas, and Grandmother's can't hold a candle to a MeMaw.

Gotta love those MeMaws.  Mine is 85.  Picture Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies, literally.  She's broken nearly every rib, had third degree burns on her arm (burning off a pasture), and her vertibrae are bone on bone. She has osteoporosis, but she's still wide open.  That's MeMaw.

Thanks hon!  My mother is a Memaw.  My son was the only grandchild to tag her with that.  She had 4 grandchildren, but there was/is a special bond between both of them.  When it came time to decide what my grandson should call me, without a doubt, I wanted to be Memaw.

BTW: I luv you Sam and if you look anything like that handsome devil in your avatar, I think we could make us a mess of purrdy internetz puppies!

Can't keep 'em down.   :cheersmate:

Mine died in '80, complications from diabetes.  She remembered being in San Francisco during the Big Quake in 1906; she and her family rode it out where her father worked, at a golf course.

I am wishing you and your family the best, Memaw.

God bless you all.

BTW, your granddaughter's name is just the sweeeeeetest! I know you can't wait to meet her and hold her in your arms.

Thank you LL!

My Mother's 1st name (the original Memaw) is Eva and her middle name is Ann.  The kids combined them to get Evana.  I have no idea where Charlotte came from!  Myself, I'm just tickled as I can be to be having a granddaughter!

Good news all!
Mary got to go home today.  My son works on Saturday's, so she's with 1 of her sisters till he gets off.  Her BP is normal.  There's no protein in her urine.  All seems well.

I came home and crashed in my own bed!  What a wuss I am!  Imagine ... a 4 yr old wearing me out!

 :hyper:  <----- Titus, my grandson!

Shoot!  If I'd known you wanted a granddaughter, I could've given you one.  I have six.

I warned you about those 4-year-olds.  Imagine me.  I have one every day.  She keeps me hopping.

I kept another granddaughter yesterday.  She turned three in January.  The two girls decided to sneak a jar of Vaseline out of the bathroom and paint one of my living room wall.  Vaseline on Chocolate Brown paint does not work.  I'm going to have to repaint the entire section.
